The forest green camo Lens Cover for Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC G2 Lens from LensCoat is a waterproof neoprene cover that protects your lens from scrapes and bumps helping to preserve its resale value. The lens cover provides a thermal barrier during cold weather, and breaks up the shape of your lens, making it less visible to wildlife.
For ease of use, there is a clear plastic window allowing you to access the AF controls and the distance scale, and an orientation hole for viewing the red dot indicator, which allows you to mount the lens on your camera without removing the lens cover. The cover includes an extra, easy to install and remove, touch-fastened piece for when you need to zoom the lens, and two additional pieces for use with the rotating tripod collar.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Will this work with a Nikon D90? And, what would be the downside of using it with a D90?
A: Updated: Yes, according to Tamron this lens will be compatible with the D90 when shooting using the viewfinder however, given the age of the camera, they would not guarantee functionality while shooting in live view. Additionally please note your focal length will be more equal to 240 - 960 mm since the D90 is a cropped sensor camera.
Q: 2. Does the vibration reduction works when shoot in high wind condition (causing vibration even on tripod) ?
A: I have never shot this lens in very high winds so I cannot answer that part of the question. I normally don't use Vibration reduction at all when on a tripod. Vibration Reduction is usually discouraged with use on a tripod.
Q: 3. Is this new lens much improved over their previous version and when compared to Nikon's 200-500mm?
A: Hard to say - we haven't gotten our hands on one. Tamron has not begun shipping yet.
Q: 4. Does the arca type foot have a threaded hole for a standard monopod?
A: Yes. There are Two standard 1/4 -20 threaded female receptacles on the bottom of the foot which allow you to attach any standard tripod head, monopod, or quick release plate.
Q: 5. How does this LensCoat get installed on the lens. I never used one before and have no idea how you apply it to the lens? A little help would be nice please. Thanks for your time and effort. Cliff Z
A: The Lenscoat product arrives in small sections. Before putting it on the lens, its best to match up each section of the coat with the appropriate section of the lens it is to go on. Each section will be evident as to what part of the lens it is to be placed on. As far as putting the coat on the lens itself goes, its much like putting on a sweatband on your wrist or head. Just stretch the neoprene out a bit and lift the first section over the circumfrence of the lens, and pull it back to its apporpriate position.
Q: 6. I am considering buying the Tamron 150-600 G2 for my Nikon D810 and D500I already have the Nikon TC 14E iiiWill this work with this lensAnd can I autofocus at 600mm
A: Nikon TC 14E iii will not fit to this lens due to notch it have.
Q: 7. Will this fit the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary?
A: Ron this fits perfectly on my Tamron lens. You might check the length of your Sigma lens. If it's the same as my Tamaron 12 in length then I would think it should fit. I'm very happy with my cover.
Q: 8. What would you recommend to carry this lens around when attached with a D500 body and a TC ?
A: You could look at a backpack like the Ikan Mini Explorer, B&H #TA1506005G2N, it has a slot to put a camera with a longer telephoto lens attached.
Q: 9. How well does it protect against damage and rain?
A: The LensCoat website states: LensCoat Lens Covers are manufactured from 100% closed-cell neoprene, offering waterproof protection while providing a thermal barrier protecting your hands from cold lenses in lower temperatures.
Q: 10. Does this lens cover fit the newest model of the 150-600mm G2?
A: No it does not fit is securely enough that I feel comfortable taking it in the field.
