The military green Domke F-5XB RuggedWear Shoulder and Belt Bag can be used as a camera bag or, by removing the Gripper shoulder strap, threaded through the belt loop for an instant waist/hip pack. The bag is designed to store your DSLR or mirrorless camera, one to two lenses, filters, and related accessories. For easy access, the padded main compartment features both zipper and touch-fastening flap closure. Interior dividers provide added protection and are useful for organizing contents. Convenient pockets are useful for storing small accessories.

Weather-resistant RuggedWear fabric produces a unique distressed and weathered look right from the start. The high-quality, weather-tough, durable cotton canvas is treated with special non-solvent, environmentally friendly waxes to afford the fabric a lifelong resistance to inclement weather. The special formula allows the fabric to breathe, while the waxes produce a unique timeless, weathered, distressed patina finish. By using the included refinishing wax, bags can be restored to their original finish.

A: Yes.

Q: 4. Do you think the rugged version has a better water resistance because of the wax? Thank you

A: it's a better look..

Q: 5. The military green version looks grayish in the photos here. Other sites sometimes looks brownish. Are the b&h photos an accurate depiction of color? Anyone buy the military green?

A: It's olive green it's greener then what appears on photos

Q: 6. Hi will this fit a nikon d810 with a 24-70? Is the water repellant wax too greasy it might touch the camera?

A: The bag is lined with a foam like material and will definitely not get grease on your camera. I have a canon, and the bag is quite adaptable with movable velcro sections. I think it will work for you. I've been happy with it.

Q: 9. Hello, I am considering this bag for my gear and there are so many positive comments about it (ideal for mirrorless cameras)I am a newbie so my gear is quite simple, including Nikon D5200 and a lens kit, another 70-300mm and 50mm will be bought soon, so i am not sure if this case is sufficient for that. Thank you. (one more thing, I am a super tiny girl, only 4'11 , so also wondering if this bag is too big on me or not.

A: Yes, you would be able to arrange it so that the camera could fit with all three lenses however it may be a tight fit. As far as the fit of this bag on your size go, I would say it is still appropriate. Its not a massive type bag that will bog you down for instance.

Q: 10. Is the zipper metal or plastic? If metal, it could scratch the camera and lens pulling it in and out of the bag. Thanks

A: The zipper is plastic.

I like this a lot. It is a good size for a minimal outing, holding my Sony A7iii, prime 25 lens, and my microphone, as well a few other stray necessities. It is very simple and well built. If you are looking for a lot of pockets, this isn't the bag for you. If you are looking for a bag to hold your monster telephoto, this isn't the bag for you. But if you like soft, strong fabric in an understated color, with a nice rubberized canvas shoulder strap, simple adjustable dividers in the small main compartment, I think you will be very happy with this purchase.

This bag is everything that all the 5 star reviews say it is. Top quality, etc.

As an aging photogwannabe, I'm finding that I'm migrating to smaller and lighter gear. This is my third Domke; each one getting smaller and smaller. I think of this one as the Baby Bear of my bags.

I took it to my 5YO granddaughter's hilarious dance recital, and I took only my 70-300 zoom (the newer Nikon small zoom); knowing I'd be a long ways away from the stage. My D7200 and the zoom fit perfectly, although with no room to spare. It was easy to maneuver amidst the crowded seats, people, etc. I sat next to my daughter (who also has the photogwannabe disease) and she had her new big 70-200 2.8 zoom with her big backpack with who-knows-what-else in it. Her rig was a bundle of confusion; this Domke fit the situation perfectly.

I'll still use my Papa and Mama Bear bags for other outings, but for those just-the-essential events, this bag is absolutely perfect.

The size is perfect for daily use with my DSLR and standard zoom lens. I keep the rest of my gear in a larger bag that I bring along for assignments or when I need more. The construction quality is fantastic, just like my other Domke RuggedWear bags, and I like the subtle look and feel of it.

I've been using Domke bags for longer than I care to admit. They were a staple of my early days as a photojournalist at a major newspaper, and I've never had a real problem with any of the bags I've owned over the years. I've mostly replaced them as my needs have changed, not because they wear out. Some would say they get better with age.

I can't tell yet if this is still up to the standards of the Domke bags of 20 years ago. The fabric seems a little thinner than I thought it would be, it is called ruggedwear after all. But the construction quality seems good and I think it'll last. The finish is nice, and I do expect the waxed finish to get better over time and to hopefully repel minor rain, etc.

The DOMKE label is really ugly on this one, but I was able to unstitch it and remove it for a much more subtle bag that doesn't scream that it's a camera bag.

Bought it for a GFX50S and one lens, and it holds that great. It'll even fit the camera with the 45-100 zoom, although it's snug. But my goal is to carry a camera around more, and this bag will make it easier.

This is my second Domke bag and it's just as well built and should be just as durable as the F-2 that's about 15 years old. I bought this bag for a specific purpose, either my Sony a7 I and Canon FD 24mm f/2, 35mm f/2 and 135mm f/2.8 lenses each with Fotodiox FD-NEX adapters or Canon A-1 SLR (sans motor drive). It holds two extra batteries, charger and lens cleaner and cloth. It's quite full but it is about as small of bag as possible for this combination. It will also accommodate my nFD 135mm f/2 in place of the f/2.8 but is a bit tighter fit. I can fit my nFD 17mm in it, but only with a total of 2 lenses, principally because the 17mm's hood is quite wide and doesn't pack well.

The zipper for the main pouch is quite beefy and I expect it will be good for decades. The open front pouch makes me a bit nervous but the velcro that holds the flap closed is quite strong, so probably nothing to worry about.
