Get smooth, easy, and accurate elevation and X/Y movement of your camera setup on the studio floor with the FP-188+ Robotic/Manual Pedestal from Vinten. Boasting a payload capacity of 188 lb, the FP-188+ supports the weight of an expanded camera/prompter package including the talent-facing vanity monitor often attached to the head during HD production. Differential wheel trucks maximize floor traction to enhance shot stability performance. The pedestal recognizes compact L-shaped floor targets, which work across a wide range of floor finishes and can be incorporated into the floor design.

Engineered for use in multifunctional studios, the FP-188+ can be operated in robotic or manual mode. It provides fully continuous steering capability and uses the Perfect Balance system for infinite adjustment, enabling you to dial in precisely the right amount of torque necessary to counterbalance your camera setup throughout the head's tilt range.

The FP-188+ pedestal's on-shot characteristics include maximum height and floor speeds of 6 and 12" per second respectively. The electronics are housed in easy-to-access modules in the base of the pedestal, allowing for board and full pack swap out. The FP-188+ is compatible with all Vinten control systems and robotic heads. To create a fully robotic 3D virtual reality tracking solution, an optional VR upgrade can be added to the pedestal.

This is a fascinating camera that makes one pause and think deeply about the evolution of photography and cameras.
It complements the Fovean cameras I have owned or own.

It does not have a Foveon sensor, but the quality of the images are comparable and the versatility of the camera is superior.

Being so small, it is much easier to take with me, but I don't feel as if I am sacrificing anything.

By far the best FP cage available. The only other one is the Niceyrig one you can find on eBay. Problem is that one has no way to use w a dummy battery without detaching the battery door which btw isn’t made to be detached. This one is the one…

A good cotton rag paper at a reasonable price. It would be nice if it came in rolls longer than 39 feet however.
