Rosco Fluorescent Lighting Sleeves/Tube Guards are a very reliable and cost-effective system for easy control of tough lighting scenarios- especially under fluorescents. In addition to the financial benefits of the sleeves, they protect against the potential disaster of glass shattering by containing the lamp within the end caps.

Rosco sleeves are constructed of a solid polycarbonate tube within which is held the specific filter. The choice of filters and combination of filters is endless - there are complete Roscolux, Cinegel or E-Colour color filter lines - something for every venue, every photographer, every cinematographer.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The name and number on the can is covered in the photo?? is this the ultimatte blue #5720 paint??????

A: This is the Chroma Key Paint and not the Rosco Ultimatte Video Paint in Blue, which is a discontinued item.

Q: 2. Does this product come with the stands in the picture or would I have to buy them separately? Also the light would I have to buy the light separately?

A: This product is only a set of barndoors for Chimera softboxes, which does not include a light nor a light stand.

Q: 3. The wall I'm painting on has an eggshell finish now, will we have to prime it first?

A: If the paint that is on the surface is not too old and not very dark, you can do with out primer. In general, it is best, when using Rosco Chroma Key Paint (Green, 1 Gallon), to prime the surface.

Q: 4. Is this accesory compatible with the Forehead rest for NL pure?

A: The Swarovski Bino Guard Pro will not fit over the forehead rest.

Q: 5. Could this paint be used on a matte finish pull-down projection screen to repurpose it as a green screen? Or would the paint crack if rolled up?

A: No, the paint would not hold and would peel off.

Q: 6. Can this be used with the Menace Arm kit? If so, can a traditional coupler connect two rails for extra reach as a Menace Arm?

A: The Matthews 1 1/4" Grip Rail (Long, 41-72") is the one you want to get if you need to use with a Menace arm kit as the standard width for Menace Arm kits is 1 1/4". Any 1 1/4" Schedule 40 Coupler will work as an extender but please consult a Grip/Gaffer about proper counterweights when rigging an extension of this size.

Q: 7. My walls have been painted with antique white semi gloss paint...can this go over top of it?...or do I need to paint it first white flat white?...

A: Hi Rosco said to paint a small section of the wall let the paint dry for 3 to 4 hours to see how flat the paint looks. If you see a shine you will need to prime the wall

Q: 8. What is the difference between this and a grid?

A: These barndoors are useful in preventing glare that could bounce back to the camera as well as minimizing light spill. A grid focuses the entire beam down and the size of the beam would be dependent on the size of the grid (in degrees). For example, a 40 degree grid would yield a less focused beam versus a 20 degree.

Q: 9. APPLICATION METHOD?HOW MANY COATS?PRIMER?

A: We have a painting crew here on campus. They used traditional latex painting methods...cutting in with a brush, then rolling on the rest. Two coats was sufficient to fully cover a previously painted wall. No primer was used, however if your wall is new or stained, I would recommend Kilz primer underneath.

Q: 10. What kind of Paint Brush AND Roller covers To Be Used With This Paint??

A: We sell the ChromaLight Painter Kit BH #CHPNTRKT • MFR #CL60001 but it depends in part on the surface you are painting. I would say you want a smooth surface so you do not get a dimpled pattern and have even light on the wall. So a roller with a short nap would make sense regardless of which brand.
