Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this ink expire?

A: Most ink packaging is dated, but a good rule of thumb that we propose is up to 2 years when stored in a cool, dry, and dark environment

Q: 2. Hello, I am researching your 9900 printer. I have a question regarding ink cartridges. We wanted to use the 9900 to output films for burning screens. Do you know if there is software that is compatible with the printer so we only have to buy black inks. Not sure if any of this information exists. I appreciate your help!Lindsay

A: Yes this printer can be used for this. Since it has multple gray cartridges, it will only use the black/gray and not use any colors. There is a mode for this in the printer software driver.

Q: 3. Thanks for your explanation of copy machine vs photo printer. Most of us understand that copy machine prints more text documents while photo printer was not intended to print text but photos. Therefore I would never have thought about asking the estimate of P900 ink usage of print text books — Please forgive me my bluntness. I have also noticed that Epson’s change of cartridge size is possibly a way of increase ink price, e.g. 80ml cartridges cost only $58 each, of course the P900 is much compact. For people who upgrade from P800 to P900, it is definitely a leap of ink cost increase. May I use 3 highly pathetic scenarios for discussion purpose: 1. Print a photo of dark sky with 95% of the entire sky is dark blue and 5% with stars in the night sky. I will think the black and blue cartridges will soon go empty while yellow or magenta ink likely untouched. (How many prints could be produced with 50ml blue and black cartridges in this case?) 2. A high key photo of sky with a tint of orange color. In this case I would assume that the yellow and magenta cartridge will be able to produce a lot more prints than scenario 1. ((But roughly how many prints could be made before yellow and magenta run out?) 3. To print a color chart that divides 17X22 into 10 portions with each of them filled with matching colors of the 10 ink cartridge set. I will assume all the ink cartridge will run out at the same time. (How many prints CAN be produced in this case? — this is Epson color science not artistry. Do you think Epson should print this scenario on to every of their ink cartridges labels, just like a pack of frozen lasagne commonly print “for 2 people or for 4 people” on their packages? ) I am just frustrated that no body seem to want to give a serious answer. I am seriously considering pre-ordering the P900 and I have been buying from B&H for over 20 years.

A: Unfortunately there is no answer. It basically depends on how much ml of ink is on each print & that is something experience & time will tell. this is a high quality photo printer which definitely bring down the cost of more compact printers per print but figure the value of the final product "Gallery & Museum Quality".

Q: 4. Can this set work with the p9000 printer?

A: No, this ink cartridge set would not be compatible with the Epson P9000. This ink would work with the following Compatible Printers Stylus Pro 7890 Stylus Pro 7900 Stylus Pro 9890 Stylus Pro 9900

Q: 5. What is the difference between the Epson T324 ink cartridge and Epson cartridge for their R800/1800? It appears they both use the same ink (HG2) in identical capacity (14ml) cartridges, yet one costs more than the other. What gives?

A: The inks for the R800/1800 are 13ml and they are not described as HG2. The inks for the P400 are 14ml and UltraChrome HG2. The physical shape and size of the cartridge is different too so you cannot use the T324 ink in the R800 or R1800 printers.

Q: 6. My P400 printer has both matte and photo black cartridges. Why is there not a cartridge kit offering both black cartridges?

A: We found the most customers only wanted 1 or the other but not both. You can buy the matte black as a separate item if you need both: https://bhpho.to/37jODMw

Q: 7. About how many 4x6 photos can I print with 1 ink cartridge?

A: Well it depends on the color of the ink and the color of the picture. The 4900 uses color ink even to print B&W pictures . So it is a question that needs more information to answer.

Q: 8. Are these genuine Epson ink cartridges?

A: Yes. This kit has everything but the matte black cartridge.

Q: 9. What is the difference between the T324 and T3248 ink? Are they both compatible for the SureColor P400?

A: T324 is the ink series for the Epson P400 Printer. The number after that which in this case it's "8" stands for the color usually Matte Black. i.e. T3241 is Photo Black, T3242 is Cyan, etc...

Q: 10. How do I calculate ink cost per print -- using epson SP 4900?For instance how many ml of ink for a full color 8X10 print?

A: Epson printers come with a built in feature that allows you to figure out exactly what each print job costs. Through the Job History feature, you can see exactly how much ink was used on a print job. The Job History stores the last ten jobs printed by the printer.
