It is the perfect addition to my camera inventory. I have an SX50HS that has been my go-to camera for having with me in the vehicle at all times. But the 20 megapixels and upgraded processor have been just what I need. My 5DMkIV is still my primary and D80 with Tamron 18-400 my telephoto choice , but this new SX70 gives me lots of zooming capability and by shooting in RAW I I can create some very good photos. Good purchase for me.

Needed to upgrade my SX50. Best zoom of any bridge camera out there!

I’ve had this for a bit more than a year now, and despite being somewhat worried after reading reviews, I’m really glad I got this camera. The zoom allows me to better frame up a lot of shots and I find it really helpful. The quality is good enough to satisfy anyone from beginner to intermediate skill, and the colors are good. Some things I noticed are green and purple borders on high contrast transitions towards the edges of the field of view.

I love having a view finder. Most of my photos are travel pictures and it will be so nice to be able to see the composition without difficulty in bright conditions.

Bought this for a trip to Africa. Small and compact, but has everything we need. Great telephoto and point and shoot with more options to learn over the years.

I owned an SX60 previously, and lost it by leaving it on an airliner. Reviews complain about it not having a hot-shoe on top of the flash, but I won't ever miss that. I love the camera and the versatility it gives me.

I purchased the Canon sx70 as I was looking for a point and shoot with a great zoom and this camera so far has been excellent! It has a 60x optical zoom, and while here in Florida, I wanted a camera to get real close for wildlife and birds. It has an amazing zoom, can get so close from far away, and the photo quality is excellent. Easy to use, lightweight, and worth the price!

Got for a fishing trip to Canada and didn't want to pack my R7 with lenses so gave this a try. Worked great. The zoom is crazy but be forewarned that if you zoom to its limits you will have a tough time hand holding it steady.

This is a great camera despite some of the negative Reviews. Most center on blurry photos, photos not as sharp as DSLR's, and battery life.
First, I would venture to guess that the blurry photos are the result of not using a tripod for telephoto focal lengths. Image stabilization can only compensate so much. Use a tripod and better photos will result.
Second, in order to keep the lens size manageable, the sensor size can only be so large. Even though the number of pixels is comparable or larger than full-frame or APS-C cameras, the size of the pixel doesn't gather as much light. This means a larger aperture or slower shutter speed. Again, it's physics.
Third, the battery drain moving a large zoom in and out coupled with a LCD viewfinder is going to eat batteries. Our friend physics strikes again.
All of these are things that Nikon, Lumix, and Fuji bridge cameras have. (Those competing bridge cameras are also excellent, especially the Nikon P900.)
