The white Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Reduced Sensitivity & LEMO 3-Pin Connector for Lectrosonics Transmitters is a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.

Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.

The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls off the extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent, even when the subject turns away from the mic.

A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a 3-pin LEMO connector and is wired for use with Lectrosonics transmitters. Accessories are sold separately and are not included with this configuration of the microphone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have Roland R05 recorder. Will this work with it?

A: The Sanken COS 11D-R is designed specifically to operate and connect to wireless audio systems transmitters. There is currently no version available that will function with a digital voice recorder.

Q: 2. is this lavalier compatible with my Sennheiser EW 512P G4 wireless system? can I plug it straight into the transmitter?

A: Yes, the DPA Microphones 6060 CORE Subminiature Normal Sensitivity Omni Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Sennheiser Adapter is compatible with Sennheiser EW 512P G4 transmitters.

Q: 3. Hello. Do I need anything additional to use these lavs. I have a SD 633 mixer, and was considering getting these and just running standard xlr cables to these. I did however come across a discussion that talked about using DPA DAD3056 for these lavs?

A: The DPA Core 4060 comes in the box with the microdot to XLR, all you need is XLR cables to run it back to the SD 633. If you own Lectrosonics wireless transmitters with TA5 inputs the microdot DAD3056 will allow you to connect the lavaliers to your Lectrosonic wireless system directly.

Q: 4. If you are doing a sit down interview, is there an advantage to using this wired, XLR version of the tram mic over the wireless version with the sennheiser g3/g4? Is the sound quality better with the wired mic?

A: Yes there is an advantage. ALL wireless systems, regardless if price, process the audio by compressing (at Transmitter) and expanding (at Receiver). This process adversely affects audio. A wired mic, such as the Tram provides better sound quality and 100% reliability (as long as it stays plugged in).

Q: 5. Is this just the 6060 w a microdot and the sennheiser adapter or is the sennheiser jack hardwired

A: Yes, the DPA Microphones 6060 CORE Subminiature Normal Sensitivity Omni Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Sennheiser Adapter has a hardwired Microdot connector and includes the DPA Microphones DAD6034 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Sennheiser Adapter (B&H # DPDAD6034).

Q: 6. Can this cable be used to output audio from a Lectrosonics DCHR to a Arri Alexa demo ?

A: No. The PSC TA5F to 5-Pin LEMO Lectrosonics Timecode Jamming Cable is specifically for use with timecode. As a compatible option, you can use the Remote Audio TA5F to Mini 5-Pin LEMO Cable B&H # RECAT5FMLR5).

Q: 7. I understand this microphone is available with an extra-long 5' cable? How do I order this cable?

A: Please contact a Pro Audio Sales Rep at 800-606-6969 or email audio@a href= http://bandh.com target= _blank bandh.com/a for availability and purchase of Special Order items.

Q: 8. New to all this and trying my best. I'd like to buy this microphone to use for filming for a YouTube show. What do I connect this to in order to capture audio while filming?

A: In addition to its high quality components, the DPA Microphones 6060 CORE Subminiature Normal Sensitivity Omni Lavalier Microphone adds value in its versatility in connector options. Depending on your workflow and current equipment setup, this mic could be paired with a connector for a wireless mic system or hardwired into a recorder's audio input. Please email us at audio@bhphotovideo.com if you would like to have a more in-depth discussion on the options and possibilities for using the DPA 6060.

Q: 9. What plug do I use for lectrosonic I thought it was Ta5 but I only see TA4 on the 6060

A: You are correct Lectro uses a TA 5. That particular DPA doesn't come with a TA 5 connector. Only 3-Pin LEMO, 3.5mm Locking, MicroDot and TA4F.

Q: 10. Generally speaking, how do the specs (and sound) of this mic compare with those of the Senal UTM-86? Thanks.

A: The Lectrosonics M152/5P offers excellent quality and is highly preferred for commercial applications.
