The Heliopan 52mm Linear Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A linear polarizer differs from a circular polarizer in that it does not supports use of a camera's autofocus or auto exposure functions; it is best suited for use with manual cameras, such as view cameras, that are not dependent on internal mechanisms to determine focus or metering settings.

The front and rear surfaces of the filter both feature a single anti-reflection coating. Each coating helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, they offer protection to the filter substrate while helping to keep the glass clean for longer than uncoated glass.

This Heliopan filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. It features a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.

Arrange and filter directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light allowing for the absorption of much of the light.

Lessens haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.

Strongest effect when used at a 90° from the sun.

Single coatings on both the front and rear offer protection to the glass and help to improve light transmission and image quality.

Constructed from Schott glass for optical clarity.

Brass filter ring helps to prevent jamming and provides additional strength.

Dual threading with 52mm front filter threads permits combining with other filters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What size lens cap fit this filter?

A: A 48mm lens cap will fit this filter.

Q: 2. Will this fit in the NiSi V5 pro holders?

A: From the NiSi V5-PRO manual: The filter holder can be used only with square filters with a width of 100 mm and a thickness of 2 mm.

Q: 3. Hi,What is the main difference between this filter and Heliopan 46mm High-Transmission Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter ?I see that the filter factor for this one is between 2.3 and 2.8For the High-Transmission version is 2.0. That means more quality for the High-Transmission one.Do both of them feature the index markings on the edge of the filter ring ?The High-Transmission one doesn't have a slim mount, does it ?!And one last question: do they have the same glass and coating ?Kind regards !

A: The main difference between the Multi-coated Heliopan 46mm Circular Polarizer and the 46mm High Transmission Circular Polarizer is the filter factor; the high transmission CP will have a filter factor of one stop, where the multi-coated has a factor of approximately 1.3 stops. Both filters feature index markings. The high transmission CP does not have a slim mount. Both filters have the same 16-layer coating, and are both produced from Schott glass.

Q: 4. hello! could this fit and work on the G Master 70 200mm? Thanks!

A: Yes, the Hoya 77mm NXT Circular Polarizer Filter will fit and work on the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens.

Q: 5. With a mirrorless Micro-4/3rds camera, do you need to use a circular polarizer? Or will a linear one be effective?

A: Circular polarizer filters are recommended for use if you will be using autofocus to focus your lens, as linearly-polarized light can confuse autofocus sensors and cause autofocus errors. However, if you will be focusing your lens manually, you may use a linear polarizing filter.

Q: 6. is this filter appropriate for film cameras, or more importantly, will it work on a lens attached to a film camera?what's the advantage of the lens being non-coated?

A: Yes that filter is fine for film or digital cameras.Lenses and filters with coatings are in general much better. Lens and filter coatings help limit flair and will than make the image look better and give it a good contrast. So it is a benefit to have lenses coated.

Q: 7. Will this fit on canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens?

A: The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens accepts49mm filters, including this one.

Q: 8. What is the technical difference between the Haida Slim Pro II & Haida NanoPro Circular Polarizer Filters?

A: This Haida NanoPro MC Circular Polarizer has the Nano coating which provides an additional layer that results in an improved beading effect when the surface comes in contact with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning. And it has side knurlings to provide a more textured grip when mounting or removing it from a lens. The Haida Slim Pro II Circular Polarizer does not have the Nano coating or knurling but it is thinner and less likely to vignette when using a wide angle lens.

Q: 9. What is the advantage or differencebetween a non-coated polarizer vs a multi coated?

A: The non coated polarizer will scratch much more easily. Since the price differential is nominal when you consider the polarizer cost, it is worth it. Especially, if you plan on keeping the camera and the lens, it will extend the useful life.

Q: 10. Does this filter fits in NiSi V6 filter holder?

A: Yes, the Haida NanoPro CPL Circular Polarizing Filter (100 x 100mm) would be compatible for use in the NiSi V6 100mm Filter Holder.
