A: This softbox can shape and control a light for use as a edge light. It however is not a light and the light you put in it relative to the other lights on the set will make a difference.

The material on this Godox 13.8x63 softbox feels slightly thinner than my Impact boxes that cost twice the money, but otherwise the Godox does have good stitching and don't feel like they're going to rip when you stretch them out and install the rods to the speed ring. The included speed ring is of the same quality and material of the other speed rings I've purchased for my other soft boxes, so no issues there. This soft box is easy to assemble, has two layers of diffusion, grid and a nice carry bag. The inner silver lining is similar to soft boxes that cost twice the money. All in all, this is a good investment for a strip light style box and I don't have a problem recommending it. 5

This softbox is great for its price. It is not something that sets up and tears down easily, but if you can keep it assembled, it makes a great modifier and it gets much use. If using it outdoors, it makes a great sail, so weight it accordingly. 5

I bought two of these for use with sports and food photography. I had not assembled a soft box like this before. I watched a Youtube video and it was pretty easy. The bowen ring has numbers on the outside. Be sure to use numbers 1 & 2 on each side of the ring and it will go together fairly easily. I would highly recommend it! 5

Common to all strip boxes (I believe), there is a hot spot in the center. You can use this to your advantage, however I cut a circle of aluminum from hardware store and left 2 1 inch strips on each side about 6 inches long, bend them down to form legs, drill hole in bottom end and run the unit's thumbscrews through the hole. You now have a reflector that works just like a beauty dish style reflector. 5

This is similar in build quality to a profoto box. The poles aren't as good, but that's it. Time will tell if it lasts as long. 5
