The Battalion from Electro-Harmonix is an all-analog bass preamp and DI pedal designed to deliver the processors and functions most commonly used by bassists in live sound and recording. In addition to the preamp and DI, it offers distortion, equalization, compression, and gating.

A selectable 10 dB pad allows you to avoid input clipping, a common concern when using basses with active pickups. The built-in DI box has an XLR output with variable level. The XLR output can follow the bypass status or remain active even when the pedal is bypassed. The EQ has four bands with fixed frequencies. The distortion circuit provides multiple routing options and controls, plus a dedicated on/off footswitch. Separate 1/4” outputs allow simultaneous routing of dry and processed signals. Activate the ground-lift switch to minimize hum from ground loops.

The Battalion features true bypass switching. Its LEDs indicate on/off status for compressor, distortion, and bypass functions. Power is supplied via the included 9.6 VDC adapter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this come with a usb cable?

A: no

Q: 2. Does this work on pc?

A: The 4-710D will not have a direct computer connection. Connection to a computer will require additional hardware such as a multi-channel audio interface. http://bhpho.to/1NPyu44

Q: 3. Most of these AD2022's are silver...any difference with this black one?

A: There is no difference between the black and silver versions of the Avalon Design AD2022 Microphone Preamp.

Q: 4. excuse me my email is my question is i have a focusrite 14 and a program call samplitude prox 2 how do i connect them? and do i need it?, i need more gain and mor quality audio.

A: The TubeOpto8 is an 8 channel mic preamp. This unit features an optical ADAT digital output that carries all 8 channels. Unfortunately the Focusrite saffire Pro 14 does not have an ADAT input and would not be compatible.

Q: 5. Is the Art TubeOpto configured for 230 V when it's sent to Europe?

A: I had the Art TubeOpto sent to Australia and it was not configured for 240 V so I am using a power transformer to use it.

Q: 6. Needing a amplified microphone to do voiceover on live dvd recording?

A: You don't need it, but a pre amp is a good idea!

Q: 7. is this worth it even if the turntable has built in preamp?

A: If your turntable has a built-in phono preamp, then this pre is not required. The benefit to using an external phono preamp is usually based in the coloring of the sound it brings to the output of the record. External phono preamps of good quality, such as this, can offer more depth and clarity to the audio signal. As well, the cartridge impedance selector on this device can help you get the most out of the cartridge used.

Q: 8. is this power supply dual voltage and hrtz?

A: Based on what we can tell, this power supply would be dual voltage and dual hertz.

Q: 9. Will this device allow me to connect a TV's spdif output to a usb speaker? or does it need to be connected to a PC/Mac to work? I am hoping to connect my Bose Companion 5 speaker system to my TV.

A: I agree that the FiiO TAISHAN-D03K is probably the way to go. That's what I have hooked up between my TV and stereo system using a 3.5 interconnect. As mentioned, the ART USB is overkill with the phono preamp included.

Q: 10. Is this hardware version 1.1? If so it will have dip switches on back of unit. This allows home theater bypass.

A: The SPL Elector Preamp has 4 dip switches on the back. This and further details can be found on the SPL product page for the Elector Preamp, linked here: https://spl.audio/en/spl-produkt/elector/
