The CR42U11001 from CyberPower is a 42 RU Carbon-Series rack enclosure designed to securely house and protect EIA-310 compliant 19” equipment for technicians and engineers in network applications, lab and test systems, and high-density server installations. The built-in rails provide 42 numbered rack spaces and adjustable rack angles.

The roof, doors, and side panels can be removed to suit access or ventilation requirements. The front and rear doors are perforated metal, which provides airflow for equipment cooling. Split rear doors allow full door swing with only 12.5” of clearance. For increased security, the doors and side panels are lockable.

Pre-installed casters and leveling feet deliver stability and ease of movement. Cable access openings and rear accessory channels greatly simplify cable management. The rack’s integrated electrical grounding features multiple points for facility grounding, and quick-release ground wires for the doors.

The roof can be removed easily with simple pull pin hinges for access during equipment installation-even with cabling already in place and routed through the cable openings

Perforated front and rear doors provide ventilation for servers and networking equipment

The front door has a simple lift off design for easy removal and reverse installation

Large toolless cable access slots in the roof provide access for overhead cable egress. The bottom design allows for unobstructed cable access through a raised floor

Rack is compatible with all EIA-310 compliant 19" equipment

Vertical rack angles can be adjusted in 1/4" increments for mounting depth requirements up to 36". Depth index numbering ensures quick and consistent rail placement. Rack units are numbered front and back for easy equipment installation

Split rear doors improve equipment access and reduce floor space requirements. Only 12.5" of clearance is needed behind the enclosures to allow for door swing

Rear accessory channels extend the full height of the enclosure. These integrated, adjustable channels provide zero RU mounting locations for toolless accessories. Mounting slots are arranged in an industry-standard pattern compatible with a variety of accessories. Each channel can accommodate two vertical PDUs or cable managers side by side (four items per enclosure). Channels are pre-installed in the rear of the enclosure but can be moved to other locations

A high-precision frame design, heavy-gauge mounting rails, and casters provide for 3000-lb static (leveling feet) and 2250-lb dynamic (caster) load ratings

Adjacent enclosures can be joined at 24" centers to match standard data center floor tiles

The roof, side panels, and doors are grounded to the enclosure frame, which has multiple connections for facility grounding. Front and rear doors include quick-release ground wires

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. We have a wood cabinet that this would go in. The wood cabinet has no lock. I'd like to screw this down to the cabinet, can I do this?

A: Sure you can, as long as the wood cabinet is securely fastened to the wall. I actually bolt a piece of 1' thick plywood to the wall, and then I mount the racks to the plywood.

Q: 2. what are the exterior dimensions?

A: The exterior dimensions of the Gator Elite Series Furniture Desktop Studio Rack are 21 x 14 x 6". The interior dimensions are 19.13 x 13.25 x 4.5" and the weight is 16 lbs.

Q: 3. does it come with any racks?

A: The Video Mount Products 19 Equipment Rack Enclosure comes with 18-space rails threaded with standard 10-32 threading.

Q: 4. Does this unit have an open back or is the unit fully enclosed (metal back)? I need a fully enclosed rack.

A: Closed back - black metal.

Q: 5. can this be mounted underneath my standing desk's tabletop?

A: We do not currently carry a mounting bracket for this UPS, but it may be possible to mount the CyberPower SL700U underneath a desk with hook and loop fasteners or similar hardware.

Q: 6. Says takes 2 12 volt batteries? Hard to believe. Can't find a small 12 v battery that would fit.

A: Yes, the CyberPower AVR Series CP900AVR UPS, B&H # CYP900AV, does take two 12V batteries. The specific battery that is listed on CyberPower's website for this unit is not currently for sale at B&H: https://bit.ly/3UrEbwh.

Q: 7. Can it be safely used on its side?

A: Generally it is not recommended to use the CyberPower AVR Series CP900AVR UPS this way.

Q: 8. Are the fans always on, or are they on a thermostat where they kick on and off as needed?

A: The fans within the Video Mount Products 19" Equipment Rack Enclosure with Pre-Loaded Cooling Fans (18 RU) are not currently thermostat regulated, although I am told that this option may become available soon. The fans in this unit run while the rack is plugged in, regardless of temperature within the rack.

Q: 9. Is the software for this product Mac compatible?

A: Yes, the CyberPower OR1000LCDRM1U Smart App LCD UPS is Mac compatible.

Q: 10. I would like to mount this rack onto a wall and have the cables come through the back (basically the rack mounted over the hole the cables will come through). Should I have any issue cutting a hole in the back of the rack to pass the cables through?

A: This unit is made of metal, so you would have to have the appropriate tool to cut a hole in the wall plate on the back to run cables through.

I was looking for a rack for a home server and came across this option from Gator. The limited space and lack of large closets in my house meant I'd be sticking my server somewhere visible, so I wanted a rack option that would be more aesthetically appealing than your standard black metal fare, and this fit the bill. In person, it looks great, and was easy to put together by following the video instructions. Only downside is the short depth (less than 13 rackable), which limits what UPSes or NASes I can fit in here, but considering this is designed to be an audio rack rather than a server rack, I really can't complain.

This is the only UPS I could find that has a slim footprint and outlets on top. I needed a slim UPS for my router cabinet and this one fit perfectly. Now, power blips so t take down my internet!

Never heard of CyberPower until a search on BH for other options apart from the popular APC brand. I'll be buying CyberPower again in the future.

We had brownouts last month and I added this cyberpower to our existing APS unit to reduce the load. As best as i can tell it works as well as that more expensive competitor.

Everything arrived early and was exactly as described. Most impressive was that monitoring software was available for my Ubuntu system. All too often the Linux world is ignored by manufacturers. Kudos to CyberPower. All installed and worked without incident. The only thing that's interesting is that every time I power up my computer the UPS produces a single beep which I presume is its way of telling me that they are talking to each other. Thanks UPS!
