The monitor button allows you to quickly adjust incoming transmission volume, while the scan button rapidly scans all channels for incoming transmissions, stopping at the first channel for six seconds with a current transmission before continuing to scan. With this radio, users can also take advantage of CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) and DCS (Digital-Coded Squelch) to communicate privately using one of the 121 privacy codes.
