Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this system with headset mic allow you to use a Lavalier Mic option? If so which one?

A: Yes, the transmitter for the Audio-Technica ATW-3211/892xTH 3000 Series Wireless Omni Earset Microphone System can be used with a lavalier microphone. Instead of connecting the included earset mic, you can use the Audio-Technica MT830cH Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for Wireless (B&H # AUMT830CH), or the Audio-Technica AT829cH Cardioid Lavalier Condenser Microphone (B&H # AUAT829CH)

Q: 2. attaching this to the Canon XA10 what cable do i need to purchase? Thanks!

A: If you are interested in mounting the 875R to the XA10, we recommend a short XLR cable. Kopul makes a variety of high quality cables. The 4000 is a premium cable and comes in coiled or straight.

Q: 3. would this mic be compatible with the canon XA-25...and if so would I need any other accesories to fit?

A: Yes. Be sure phantom power is on. You may need a spacer for it to fit nicely in the XA25's mic holder. I use a rubber pipe spacer from a bicycle light handlebar mount. O-rings will work, too. If you are shooting outside, be sure to get a fuzzy. It won't get all the wind on a windy day, but it will deal with a lot of it.a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/538882-REG/WindTech_MM_25_MM_25_Fur_Fitted_Microphone.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/538882-REG/WindTech_MM_25_MM_25_Fur_Fitted_Microphone.html/aI use a short XLR cablea href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/845562-REG/Kopul_m4003rc_3_Pin_XLR_M_to_Angled.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/845562-REG/Kopul_m4003rc_3_Pin_XLR_M_to_Angled.html/a

Q: 4. will this mic work with an AF100? What mount do I need to attach it to the camera?

A: I use the at8410a microphone shock mount

Q: 5. Does this come with a mic holder if I'm not using it with a shock mount?

A: Yes it does!

Q: 6. Would this microphone connect to the Zoom H1n? If so, how would it?

A: Technically you can, but it's kind of a long walk. You would need to connect the mic to a Phantom Power Supply, and then to the H1. You may want to consider a self-powered mic (one AA battery) and the correct cable: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1171344-REG/senal_mc24_el_professional_shotgun_microphone.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1221867-REG/kopul_xrsm_015b_xrsm_3_pin_xlr_female.html

Q: 7. how does it work with a zoom h6?

A: Plug it in and turn on the phantom power and bring up the level.

Q: 8. Will the AT875R work on a Panasonic Lumix GH4? Does it plug directly in or do I need a pre amp?

A: The Audio-Technica AT875R Short Shotgun Microphone requires phantom power to operate, which is not provided directly from the 3.5mm external microphone input on the Panasonic Lumix GH4 Mirrorless Camera. To use these two components together, a device that provides a phantom-powered XLR input preamp and converts the signal to a 3.5mm microphone output is required. BH #BEDXAMICROP Beachtek DXA-MICRO-PRO Active XLR Compact Adapter is a good solution in this scenario: https://bhpho.to/3tzeD2N

Q: 9. What is the Optimal Pickup Range? looking to use it for interviews on set. I would have it over the talents head, out of frame

A: You should be able to place the Audio-Technica AT875R Short Shotgun Microphone about 3 to 5 feet overhead to capture clear audio, then adjust the distance to find the sweet spot, depending on how loud the people are speaking.

Q: 10. does this come with the foam windshield? or do I buy it separately?

A: Mine came with the foam cover. As well as a black Audio Technica zippered bag for the mic.

When I bought a set of AT4022's the friend that recommended them, recommended I purchase the AT8410A Shock Mount. Well I did and when they came in I was pleasantly surprised. I figured they would be nicely made. Well they are built to work and work well and last a long time. Best of all they will hold other end address mics I have when I do use something other than the AT4022's They are well worth the money and as I found in my first recording at a venue that has a lot of bass (pipe organ) they were isolated very well and did not have any noise transmitted up the stand through the holder and into the mic casing.

A good buy and I would recommend them.
