The Roadie Roller 18 from Tenba is a rolling camera case that is designed to be stylish and meet the carry-on requirements for most international and US airlines. Crafted using a thoughtful design and minimal branding, the Roadie Roller 18 features a distinctive appearance without drawing unwanted attention to the equipment inside.

A large main compartment with adjustable dividers can hold a complete kit for many photographers, while the interior of the main compartment lid features four clear mesh panels for easy identification of their contents. The Roadie Roller 18 can fit up to an attached 300mm f/2.8 lens, four to five additional smaller lenses, flashes, accessories, and up to two DSLR camera bodies.

On the exterior of the case is a pocket designed specifically for a separately-available, portable battery bank. Smartphones, computer tablets, or laptops can be quickly and conveniently recharged when in transit, while a drop-in tripod carrier allows camera supports to be strapped to the side of the Roadie Roller 18. Additionally, an integrated add-a-bag strap consolidates other luggage along the front of the case for easy transport of multiple carry-ons through airports, hotels, or parking lots.

Aside from being able to comfortably hold photo gear, the case's zippered front pocket organizer provides storage for pens, business cards, passports, airplane tickets, as well as small electronics, and features a padded sleeve with an interior divider for most 17" laptops. The laptop sleeve is positioned so that its contents can be readily accessed, whether for faster processing through airport security or to maximize work-related productivity during travel. Four handles are included for flexibility while transporting or moving the case, a two-stage telescoping top handle, a leather-trimmed non-telescoping top handle, a side handle, and a bottom handle that makes it easier to pick up and place the case into airplane overhead bins or into car trunks.

For peace-of-mind in crowded settings, a built-in TSA-approved combination lock secures the main compartment zipper. To chain the case to an immovable object such as a pole, an integrated, braided-steel side cable is included along with an additional TSA-approved combination lock.

A honeycomb internal frame with nylon construction throughout provides the bag with a high degree of weather resistance and overall durability, which is further complemented by wheel housings that help protect the reinforced corners of the case from impacts to escalators and curbs. A rain cover is included for even more protection from the elements should the need arise, and if they wear out over time, the wheels, wheel housings, foot stands, and telescoping top handle are user-replaceable.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Two different wheel designs are shown in the wide and closeup photos. Which wheel design does the case actually have?

A: Our apologies. We'll check the photos and get that fixed. The wheels on the Roadie 24 are the large 100mm shock absorbing ones with the aluminum trim. This case has larger, more all-terrain wheels than the smaller carry-on compatible Roadies.

Q: 2. Is the shell of the Roadie 24 as rigid as the Roadie Air Case Roller 21? In the images, the shell of the 24 seems thinner.

A: The Tenba Roadie Air Case Roller 21 would offer thicker padding over the Tenba Roadie Roller 24.

Q: 3. Is the interior of this bag tall enough to hold a speedlight upright and straightened?

A: This bag will not hold a flash upright unless the flash head is at a 90 degrees angle.

Q: 4. Is there any place I can put my name on the bag? I like that it is super sleek but surely there has to be a spot to put identification?

A: There is a window for a business card inside the laptop sleeve on the front of the case.

Q: 5. There's no mention of a compartment for laptop (or laptop size). Please clarify. ?

A: Because of the unique hard case that can support up to 400 pounds, it does not have a compartment for a laptop or tablet. As much as I loved the case when I received it, I ended up returning it and will get the Hybrid version instead

Q: 6. will this carry a 400mm 2.8 lens with 2 bodies with grip?

A: Yes, this should be able to accommodate your gear with the lenses detached.

Q: 7. What is the difference between the Roadie Hybrid Roller and the Roadie Roller? Both seem to have backpack shoulder straps.

A: According to the manufacturer, the Tenba Roadie Hybrid Roller 21 has a Fast-Deploying Backpack Harness which allows the Roadie to be carried comfortably when the terrain is not "wheel friendly," such as on stairs or over sand or dirt. The Fast-Deploying Backpack Harness is not listed as included with the Tenba Roadie Roller 21. The Tenba Roadie Roller 21, B&H # TERR21B, instead has a Quick Access Battery Pocket, which is a rear zippered pocket that can hold most common portable batteries for charging mobile phones and other portable devices. Twin zippers allow cables to be easily threaded out of the pocket. The interior of the Tenba Roadie Hybrid Roller 21 is slightly deeper. The interior dimensions of the Tenba Roadie Roller 21 are 12W x 17H x 6.25-7.75D in. (30W x 43H x 15.8-19.6D cm), whereas the interior dimensions of the Tenba Roadie Hybrid Roller 21 are 12W x 17H x 6-7D in. (30W x 43H x 15.2-17.7D cm). That being said, both cases appear to have identical exterior dimensions, and all other specifications are identical.

Q: 8. Will a Nikon Z 70-200 S 2.8 will stand up "comfortably", i.e. not protrude to the point where it needs laying flat? Thanks :)

A: Yes, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S Lens can stand up vertically in the Tenba Roadie Roller 24.

Q: 9. Will a Sony FX6 with top handle and lens attached fit inside?

A: Yes, the Sony FX6 with a top handle and lens attached will fit in this case.

Q: 10. Can a ad300 pro fit vertically

A: Yes, the Godox AD300 Pro fits vertically inside of the Tenba Roadie Roller 21.
