The single, black PSI Audio A215-M is a powered, full-range monitor designed to be tonally balanced with high-resolution detail and efficient transient response for accuracy in mixing, mastering, and surround applications. The innovative floor-standing design offers outstanding performance in the full range without the need for an additional subwoofer. The bi-amplifier delivers 120W to the two 5.8" woofers and 40W to the 3.9" tweeter, which combine to provide a frequency response of 36 Hz to 23 kHz at an SPL of 117 dB per pair.

The amplifier output also features the AOI output stages, while the active crossover with integrated CPR delivers an impulse behavior with accurate stereo imaging. The crossover is also optimized for maximum phase coherence, projecting a wide horizontal and vertical listening area.

The rear panel offers a balanced XLR input and features a volume control and a roll-off control for optimizing the low frequencies specific to the room. The PSI Audio A215-M includes a power cord and an individual frequency-response diagram.

  • Broad bandwidth in a compact cabinet
  • Flat frequency response
  • Optimized directivity by phase coherency
  • Real symmetrical directivity
  • Class-G low-temperature amplifier stage
  • Protection circuits with overload indicator
  • Real balanced input
  • Designed for stereo and multi-channel monitoring
  • Magnetically shielded for use near video monitors

The AOI system is made up of a system that detects the movement of the membrane and the coil, as well as a filtered counter reaction. This is then tuned to achieve the ideal dampening rate for each frequency

The ALG is used in all regular 2-way and 3-way PSI Audio speakers. The shape and dimensions of the waveguide used in PSI Audio's custom tweeter is specially designed to optimize directivity, as well as maximize sound-pressure level, and extend bandwidth

The CPR system is made up of several all-pass filters, each acting in a specific range. Combined, they create a compensated phase response, which provides a constant group delay that is kept to the bare minimum through the entirely analog technology

The PSC technology enables to remote activation and deactivation of the standby mode of your loudspeakers via the signal cable

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do the Yamaha HS5 Studio Monitors have magnetic shielding?

A: Unfortunately they do..LOL, that is a good thing.

Q: 2. is the price tag on it for the pair speakers or just single?

A: This product listing is for a single monitor.

Q: 3. What is the frequency response range for this cabinet?

A: The frequency range of the HeadRush FRFR-108 MKII 1x8" 2000W Full-Range Powered Cabinet is 52 Hz – 22 kHz (-10 dB).

Q: 4. Is a big difference between these and mr5 mk3 ? How about power consumption ?

A: The power consumption on the MR524 and MR5mkiii during loud music playback is the same; 90 watts. High's and low's are better reproduced over the MR524 nonetheless.

Q: 5. Can any subwoofer be use with these monitors or only the HS8S?

A: The HS8S and HS5 integrate together very well; but most active subwoofers may be used with the Yamaha HS5 monitor speaker.

Q: 6. How do you connect this to your computer? Do you need to buy a special amp or something?

A: To connect the Yamaha HS5 Powered Studio Monitors with Cables and Isolation Pads Kit to a computer, you can use a monitor controller such as the Mackie Big Knob Passive Studio Monitor Controller (B&H # MABKPASIVBLK). You can connect a cable from the computer's 3.5mm TRS audio jack (headphone output) to the 3.5mm input on the monitor controller, and then connect both of the HS5 speakers to the output of the monitor controller. The only cable you would need to add is an aux cable like the Hosa Technology Stereo Mini Male to Stereo Mini Male Cable - 3' (B&H # HOSMMSMM3).

Q: 7. power supply 110-220v?

A: The Yamaha HS8 powered studio monitors offered in the US operate at 120V only. They do not include a switchable power supply.

Q: 8. What type of cable is needed to connect a modeler to this cabinet - i.e., instrument cable or speaker cable?

A: The HeadRush FRFR-108 MKII 1x8" 2000W Full-Range Powered Cabinet accepts mic input via XLR, and line input via 1/4" TRS. It does not accept instrument level input.

Q: 9. IS THE HS5 A WIRELESS SPEAKER?

A: The Yamaha HS5 is not a wireless speaker. It requires a line level audio connection via XLR or 1/4 connection.

Q: 10. These are not dual voltage and hrtz?

A: Based on the information available, these units are 120v only.
