The single, red PSI Audio A14-M Studio is a compact, powered, nearfield monitor designed to be tonally balanced with high-resolution detail and efficient transient response for accuracy in small surround setups and small studio environments. The bi-amplifier delivers 70W to the 5.8" woofer and 30W to the 2.8" tweeter, which combine to provide a frequency response of 56 Hz to 22 kHz at an SPL of 112 dB per pair.

The PSI Audio A14-M Studio incorporates all the technology from its larger siblings including the AOI output stages, while the active crossover with integrated CPR delivers an impulse behavior with accurate stereo imaging. The rear panel offers a balanced XLR input and features a volume control and a roll-off control for optimizing the low frequencies for standalone use or when using an optional subwoofer. The PSI Audio A14-M Studio includes a power cord, anti-slippage stickers, and an individual frequency-response diagram.

  • Flat frequency response
  • Optimized directivity by phase coherency
  • Protection circuits with overload indicator
  • True balanced input
  • Designed for stereo and multichannel monitoring
  • Magnetically shielded for use near video monitors

The AOI is made up of a system that detects the movement of the membrane and the coil, as well as a filtered counter reaction. This is then tuned to achieve the ideal dampening rate for each frequency

The ALG is used in all regular 2-way and 3-way PSI Audio speakers. The shape and dimensions of the waveguide used in PSI Audio's custom tweeter is specially designed to optimize directivity, maximize sound-pressure level, and extend bandwidth

The CPR system is made up of several all-pass filters, each acting in a specific range. Combined, they create a compensated phase response, which provides a constant group delay that is kept to the bare minimum through the entirely analog technology

The PSC technology enables remote activation and deactivation of the standby mode of your loudspeakers via the signal cable

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is a big difference between these and mr5 mk3 ? How about power consumption ?

A: The power consumption on the MR524 and MR5mkiii during loud music playback is the same; 90 watts. High's and low's are better reproduced over the MR524 nonetheless.

Q: 2. is Yamaha HS5 Powered Studio Monitor (Single, White)120 volt only?

A: The Yamaha HS5 available here at B&H is designed for use with 120 VAC only.

Q: 3. do each of the pair of speakers need do be connected to the computer by individual USBs in order to have remote access?

A: They do not. There is an XLR AES3 output is provided to route digital signal to the second monitor, necessary for correct digital signal flow.

Q: 4. Can I use it as desktop speakers?

A: Yes. These will work on a desktop. Isolation pads are usually a good option to ensure the desk does not resonate with the speakers. I would recommend using an audio interface for the best sound out of a computer, but a cable like this can be a less costly solution to output sound from a computer: https://bhpho.to/3yudNDe

Q: 5. IS THE HS5 A WIRELESS SPEAKER?

A: The Yamaha HS5 is not a wireless speaker. It requires a line level audio connection via XLR or 1/4 connection.

Q: 6. Do I need an audio box to power yamaha hs8 monitors?

A: The Yamaha HS8 are self powered monitor speakers. You would only need to input a line level audio signal via the available 1/4 or XLR connection on the rear panel.

Q: 7. Is this works on a IMAC computer?

A: Yes, the M-Audio BX5 D3 5" 2-Way 100W Powered Studio Monitor Kit (Pair) can be connected to an Apple iMac computer. If you are not using a USB audio interface with line output connections for speakers, you will probably want to use a monitor controller like the Mackie Big Knob Passive Studio Monitor Controller (B&H # MABKPASIVBLK) which will connect to the computer's 3.5mm audio output or headphone jack.

Q: 8. Can any subwoofer be use with these monitors or only the HS8S?

A: The HS8S and HS5 integrate together very well; but most active subwoofers may be used with the Yamaha HS5 monitor speaker.

Q: 9. These are not dual voltage and hrtz?

A: Based on the information available, these units are 120v only.

Q: 10. Are these good for music production?

A: Yes, this monitor is good for music production., specifically, tracking and mixing, but not for mastering.
