Q: 1. Does anyone know if this would allow me to use a vintage Hasselblad lens(from 1000F) that does not have leaf shutter on the GFX platform? Specifically, it's the Kodak Ektar 80mm, from back in the day when the Hasselblad had a focal plane shutter in the body, and not the leaf shutter in the lens. Thanks!

A: Yes, it will work without any issues.

Q: 2. Hi. I would like to buy this adapter, but does it fully compatible to Nikon D7100 and D800 bodies, using Carl Zeiss Plannar 80 T* lens? How may I set apperture and speed using vintages Carl Zeiss lenses with Nikon DSLR? Via camera body or lens?

A: The hassy lens has a manual setting for the aperture, the camera needs to go on automatic or shutter priority. I used it with my Nikon D800, it will be heavy with the lens and you need to keep an eye on dust. The fitting will not be precise, it will either be loose or too tight, if you are the hands on fixer, you can file a bit the connectors of add grafers tape to make a snug fit and that wont make it rattle. Focus is all manual.

Q: 3. Hasselblad V lenses (C,CF,CFE,CFi) have to be re-cocked by a V body, since it uses a leaf shutter. Is there a mechanism on this adapter to do just that, or would you have to remove the lens, re-cock manually, and reattach after each exposure?

A: When you use this you only adjust the aperture. Your camera handles the shutter. There is no way for a Nikon to connect to the mechanical shutter in a Hassy lens. The only thing you can do is use the preview slide on the lens to open the aperture wide open to see what you are doing then slide it back when shooting.

Q: 4. Can the tripod foot be unbolted from the mount adapter for hand-held use?

A: We are not aware of it being removable.

Q: 5. Will it work with Leica SL body?

A: Yes, it is compatible with the Leica SL (Typ 601).

Q: 6. I want to know if this adapter has a wobble on lumix s1 ?

A: We have not heard of any play or wobble with this adapter. This gives a solid lens mount without play.

Q: 7. is this adaptor compatible for cf 80mm lens for Canon EOS 5D mark ii -G?

A: No. Unless you have a Nikon F mount to canon EF adapter. I recently bought this adapter and was disappointed with the results. Just buy the canon 85mm 1.8 lens

Q: 8. Does the Hasselblad V lens need to be stopped down manually to the desired aperture before pressing the camera shutter? The V lens also need to be cocked before taking the shot, correct ?Any detailed usage instructions would be appreciated.

A: Its a nice quality adapter in terms of materials, but it is not a smart adapter in terms of technology. You dont need to cock it but you have to adjust your aperture manually and the use the GFX curtain shutter.

Q: 9. What's the lens crop factor ?Any lens vignette ?Is there a lens lock switch to prevent lens falling out of the adapter ?

A: I would suggest dropping crop factor. Calculating what the Angle of View is for a format you are not using does not make sense if you do it all the time. It is far better to learn what the mm lengths are for normal-wide-tele for the sensor you are using. Since the mm of a lens does not physically, change you can then tell at a glance what the perspective will be. But to answer your question, since you are going from a larger film format 63 x 63mm, to a smaller digital format, 43.8 x 32.9mm, the perspective change, or crop factor is 1.4. Lens vignetting will depend on the lens. The wider you go the greater the chance. However, we do not know offhand of any lens that would vignette with this set up. Finally, as in all lens mounts that are not screw-in, there is a catch you must release in order to dismount the lens.

Q: 10. I thought the X system had the shutter in the lens. How can a lens without a shutter work on this camera?

A: Hasseblad XCD lens would have an internal shutter, but the camera is also capable of using its electronic shutter.
