A: We use these cables for events, so mainly we run them on the ground or string them up for a few hours and then take them down. On some accessions we've ran a few in the ceiling, but the ambient temperature is no more that 100F.I have had 1 or 2 cables warp due to direct heat greater than 120F.

A: XLR inputs are a standard size so the grommets you have should fit into the circular holes. It is difficult to determine whether there may be any difference in the thickness of the plate on your old mic mounts to know whether or not the grommets you have will match the thickness of the plate on this mount. But there is a good chance that they can be a match.

A: This cables native impedance will be suitable for your application. There are no impedance issues.

A: This mount is designed to work specifically with a Wooden Camera Universal Offset Bracket. It has a set screw built in to the bottom, so I would not suggest this model. A good shock mount for a cold shoe is the Auray DUSM-1 Universal Shock Mount for Camera Shoes and Boompoles, B&H # AUDUSM1.
