Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Two questions. First, does this unit need power? Second, The display out of each HDMI, is it and extended display, mirrored display, or split across both outputs?

A: This hub requires power. This hub allows you to mirror, extend or split across both monitors. For more information, please see the link below: https://bit.ly/32nAXwA

Q: 2. So does this splitter just duplicate the signal out of one port or does it allow the computer to recognize another display to extend to another screen?

A: You can extend or mirror with this adapter.

Q: 3. My TV doesn't have an HDMI but it has the UDS. Could this be used as an adapter in oder to give my TV the capability of connecting my Xbox One as this can only be connected via HDMI?

A: This IOGEAR adapter is probably not what you need because it's to connect a source with a DisplayPort connection *to* HDMI, not the other way around, which is what you want. Furthermore, I wouldn't recommend using the TV speakers for sound; you can get much better audio using the S/PDIF optical output from your Xbox One with a powered speaker system.

Q: 4. The description states that this device is "HDMI 1.4 Compliant". Does this mean that it supports 4k, but only at 30Hz?

A: Yes, that would be correct. Due to the limitation of the internal chipset.

Q: 5. Can it pass-through the HDMI signal, without boosting, when its power is off?

A: The power would need to be on for the ATEN True 4K HDMI Booster BH #ATVB800 for pass-through.

Q: 6. Can this product split 4096 x 2160, or is it limited to 3840x2160?

A: The MuxLab 1x2 UHD 4K DisplayPort Splitter does not support DCI 4k resolutions. The highest resolution supported is UHD 3840 x 2160p60.

Q: 7. Can this have three different views from one display port at the back of my computer?

A: You are able to either have one large display across three screens, extended 3 separate windows across all screens, duplication on three screens. See the image that we have.

Q: 8. This will duplicate a 4k@60 stream to two monitors at the same time, correct? Every other splitter I can find is an MST hub and can't do this.

A: According to MuxLab this splitter will duplicate identical DisplayPort 1.2a content from one DisplayPort connector to two monitors. DisplayPort 1.2a supports 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60Hz. This should send two 4K streams to both monitors.

Q: 9. Will this adapter support conversion of the Mini DisplayPort video signal into an HDMI signal up to UHD 4K @ 60Hz? Will the adapter support the 4:4:4 color format (true RGB color) without the visual color degradation? Those of us with Macbook Pros (Retina 2015) with AMD Radeon R9 M370X cards would like to know if this device will work to get 60Hz.

A: no UHD4k only to 30hz

Q: 10. I am using a Nvidia GeForce P2000 4 dp output card. I need to split one output to a DP monitor and the second output to a Blackmagic ATENOLOL mini. Both The ATEN and monitor MUST receive the EDID information. Will this work?

A: The MuxLab 1x2 UHD 4K DisplayPort Splitter does not support EDID. Unfortunately it would have to be tested to see if it was functional with your requirements. B&H does have a 30 day return period that would allow you to test it with your setup.
