Really great camera for run and gun documentary style. Using C200B with SmallHD Focus so missing out on touch focus screen but still works great!

I suggest that the Canon EOS C100/200/300 are the best overall cinema cameras you can buy. The menu system is extremely well thought out and easy to navigate once you get used to it (I've had Sony and Panasonic cameras for years that I never ever fully figured out, though the BlackMagic menus are crazy simple to learn). Also, the camera is very light and easy to handle, so there's no problem adding accessories. I specifically wanted the C200B because it is slightly stripped down with the deletion of the viewfinder, and it is just small enough to use on a gimbal, while still being a fully fleshed out proper cinema camera. Actually, I bought the regular C200 as well, and side-by-side I wish I got the a second C200B. The viewfinder is a bit much for something I rarely use and I didn't know how much I appreciated NOT having it until I started using this version.

I'm coming from a series of Blackmagic Design cine cameras which can all produce a great image once you learn to work with them, but I needed a more practical camera for some of my corporate work which didn't require focus pulling and as large a rig build-out as the pocket cinema cameras. The dual-pixel autofocus is brilliant for the corporate work where many of the pieces involve product demonstrations. We can now turn those pieces around more quickly with results which satisfy the customer.

I believe this to be a great jump from a dslr . Everything I need in one . No more external components and crazy Micky mouse rigs.

Make sure to get cage and case! Going back to canon was a smart choice. I forgot how much better color grading was , on a canon. Quality sharp images on budget lenses .

We're using this camera as a hybrid. We shoot documentary (interviews, b-roll) as well as use this in a live setting through a switcher. With decent glass and nice sensor, we've been impressed with it's picture.

This is a must if you plan on using certain rail systems on your C200. The camera is a touch shorter than my old C100mkii, so the base plate/rail combo I had from Smallrig didn't align right and my matte box wouldn't go low enough to work. This raises the camera the perfect amount to work with 15mm rail baseplates and also adds much needed mounting holes for lateral movement on gimbal baseplates like the smaller Ronin-S.

Fit and finish is perfect as expected from Shape. Worth it if you need it.!
