Polsen Pcr-65 Cardioid Condenser Microphone

$149.97 $238.45

The PCR-65 from Polsen is a cardioid condenser microphone designed for full-range reproduction of vocals and instruments in podcasts, recording studios, and broadcast environments. Its side-address, pressure-gradient design utilizes a large 1" diaphragm with a cardioid polar pattern, which minimizes the pickup of off-axis sounds and impedes feedback. The microphone boasts a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, allowing it to accurately transduce the frequencies of a variety of sounds. Its high sensitivity and 125 dB maximum SPL ensure that you can use it on quiet or loud sources, from whispered vocals to pounding drums.

The PCR-65 has a sturdy, metal housing with an alloy finish. The supplied custom shockmount decouples the mic from vibrations and rumble that would otherwise transfer from the floor to the mic. Use the desktop tripod stand for convenient tabletop placement during interviews and podcasts. Phantom power (12 to 52 VDC) is required.

The 1" capsule's cardioid polar pattern is least sensitive to sound behind the microphone, allowing better rejection of room reflections, which is ideal for capturing vocals and close-miked instruments with greater clarity

The 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response is sufficiently wide to deliver a warm, natural sound for a variety of sources, from the low drone of a double bass to the high shimmer of cymbals to the powerful presence of a vocal

The microphone's high sensitivity allows it to be used on quiet sources such as a soft voice, without extreme gain, and its high maximum SPL of 125 dB ensures that it can handle loud sounds such as a drum, without distortion

Metal construction with an alloy finish enables the mic to hold up to the demands of studio and stage environments

The supplied shockmount, which decreases pickup of rumble and vibrations, can be mounted on a standard mic stand or the included desktop tripod

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it good for recording singer to motu m2?

A: Yes, the Polsen PCR-65 Cardioid Condenser Microphone would work well to record vocals into the Motu M2 interface.

Q: 2. hi does boya by mm1 work with samsung s10+?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 3. Does this mic work with PC?

A: Hi, yes this product will work with any computer that has a 3.5 mm microphone port. Thank you for shopping at B&H!

Q: 4. Can this be paired with itself for stereo input to say, Zoom H6 recorder, for dSLR TRS minijack input? Need to record high end performances without post-processing.

A: This is a mono microphone that requires phantom power. It will not work directly with a miniplug without a power supply.

Q: 5. Does this work with a headphone jack?

A: This microphone does not have a headphone output port.

Q: 6. could this microphone be used in a conference room setting to pick up voices around a table?

A: This is a cardioid polar pattern mic, meaning that it's focused on capturing the sound directly in front of it. For conferences where people are all around, an omni-directional polar pattern mic would work best. You could use this mic for recording conferences, but it wouldn't capture everyone's voices. I suggest looking for omni-directional microphones or microphones that have multiple polar patterns with omni-directional being one of them.

Q: 7. Will this work for the BMPCC4K

A: No, the BOYA BY-MM1 Mini Cardioid Condenser Microphone is not compatible for direct connection to the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The BY-MM1 requires plug-in power which the camera does not provide through its 3.5mm mic input. As another option, you may want to consider the BOYA BY-BM3011 Camera-Mount Cardioid Shotgun Microphone ( B&H # BOBYBM3011) or the Opteka VM-8 Directional Mini-Shotgun Microphone (B&H # OPOPVM8) which both operate using a single AAA battery and are around the same price. Any other battery-powered mic with a 3.5mm TRS connector will also work with the BMPCC4K.

Q: 8. What is the best shock mount for the Rode NT3 condenser mic?

A: The RODE NT3 3/4" Cardioid Condenser Microphone comes with the RODE Stand Mount for NT3, 4, and Other Condenser Microphones (B&H # RORM3), but you can use a shock mount like the Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension - Lyre Shockmount (B&H # RYINVHGMKIII) or the Rycote INV-BH InVision Microphone Suspension for Stand and Boompole Mounting (B&H # RYIVBH), which will both accommodate the NT3 on a stand or boompole.

Q: 9. So this comes with a mic and the furry thing to go over it?

A: Yes, this kit comes with the mic, shock mount, furry windscreen, two output cables, and a carrying pouch.

Q: 10. Hello. I wonder how noisy it is? How does it work for recording low volume stuff?

A: The AT2021 Cardioid Condenser Microphone is designed for general instrument capturing, vocals, amplifier cabinets, and similar applications. It's signal to noise ratio is 75db and has a max SPL of 145db. It features a Cardioid polar pattern, reducing sound pickup from the sides and rear, improving isolation of the desired sound source.

I took a chance when this mic went on sale and I am very pleased that it surpassed my expectations! This mic has a solid bright sound that rivals more expensive models. I recommend it for anyone who wants to get the most out of a limited budget.

This mic is impressive. I purchased this with a Polsen usb audio interface and spent today doing some experimentation with it.

I started a vocal recording using my Amazon Echo as a source and basically did a cover of a favorite song. When I went to do the playback, I was completely blown away by the amount of secondary rejection this mic is capable of. The Amazon Echo was actually fairly loud, but it wasn't present in the final recording (there is some of it in the final output, but it is so much attenuated, you'd have to find a silent passage to hear it). If you are doing vocals without using headphones, this is a great choice. The tone and response of the microphone are great - I could not tell this wasn't a much more expensive piece of gear. I also tested handling noise and the shock mount is very effective at dampening coupled noises.

The only negative I can give here is that the desktop stand is not that great. I spent yesterday in the shop making a new desktpp stand that doesn't tip over if you look at it funny. The stand it comes with is poorly balanced, so that will be your first upgrade.

If you can spare the extra monies on this, go for it, i also got pop filters to go with them, works well for not picking up outside noises as well.

Audio sounds great for the price. I’ve had no issues at all. Mostly used in Discord. The headphones aren’t great but fine for basically a freebie when I mostly wanted the mic and usb phantom power. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a budget condenser mic!

Great frequency response, not too bassy and not too trebly.
