This 4 x 5.65" Tiffen Water White Glass NATural IRND Filter is a neutral density filter with a 2x filter factor that provides a 1-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.3 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times.

This Tiffen 4 x 5.65" Water White Glass NATural IRND 0.3 Filter is constructed from Water White glass for increased clarity as well as color fidelity. It is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 4mm thick.

Q: 1. What is the thickness of the 77mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter by Tiffen? I plan to use it on a 17MM lens and want to make sure there is no vignetting.

A: The Tiffen 77mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Circular Polarizing is about 3mm thick.

Q: 2. Will this filter work with both a 58mm tele lens and 18mm wide lens?

A: This filters can work with any lens that has a 67mm front thread. However, you may experience vignetting on wider lenses.

Q: 3. I do not see a high transmission ultra-slim or low profile version of this filter. Will this polarizing filter cause vignetting with wide angle lenses?

A: when using wide angle lens we highly suggest using filter with slim profiles to avoid vignetting.

Q: 4. Does this filter have front threads that will accept a screw-on lens hood?

A: Yes, it does. I use it with a lens hood often.

Q: 5. Does this fit on a Canon RF 24-105mm L lens? Without touching the glass?

A: Yes it fits on any lens that has a 77mm filter thread such as the Canon RF 24-105mm f4 L lens.

Q: 6. What are the filter and stop factors for this filter?

A: The filter factor is 3 and the stop loss is 1 and 2/3 stop

Q: 7. How many stops is this?

A: The Vaxis 95 IRND 2.1 filter has an optical density rating of 2.1, which equates to a 7-stop reduction in f-stop reduction.

Q: 8. Is the filter holder included?

A: No. Just the following is included. VFX Filter Alcantara leather bag

Q: 9. Will a standard 52mm Nikon lens cap fit on this polarizer? Thanks, Frank

A: Yes, a 52mm lens cap will fit on the Tiffen 52mm Digital HT filter.

Q: 10. What is the Low Profile Titanium Lock Ring? Is this a way of locking the filter, to stop it rotating?

A: The lock ring holds the glass in the main filter ring. It is low profile to avoid vignetting. This has nothing to do with the rotation of the filter for polarization.
