Q: 3. Will this work with my Godox AD200 where I can screw the strobe to the top and just pop an umbrella in? Sort of like the one that comes with the AD200, but made of metal? Thanks.

A: It will work with a AD200. Its much stronger than the little plastic mount.

This Manfrotto Lite-Tite Swivel Umbrella adaptor fits the bill for managing all sorts of tilts, for umbrellas, of course, but even more so for heavier items such a lights. Also, it is easy to handle and adjust.

Manfrotto is on the device - so of course it is well made, and it isn't cheap. This solved a simple issue that was far too complicated problem - adding an umbrella to a studio flash with a reflector installed. I'm using HoneBadger flashes with Bowens mount.

I was able to mount this to the bottom of my flash and a light stand. This offsets the umbrella hole quite a bit from the center line of the flash (trying to get the flash to fill the umbrella). Turns out using the tilt on my flash, I was able to get the flash to fill the umbrella perfectly. I locked that in, and then used the Manfrotto tilt to actually aim the light. The tilt lever on the adapter is far better than the one on my flash. The black arm is that pull and rotate style, so the arm can be oriented anywhere out of the way.

It took a while to figure out the right adapters for my flash and the light stand. Ultimately, once the adapter was tightened down, it didn't rotate. The umbrella rod fits perfectly in the slot and the small knob grabs the rod tightly.

If somebody actually made a reflector with a properly positioned hole, this adapter wouldn't be necessary. Since I'm mostly forced to use this, I'm glad the adapter works so well. Really well built for a fairly special use case.

I tried all other brands, Flashpoint, godox, etc. Nothing beats Manfrotto swivels

This umbrella holder is very heavy duty and very versatile. I have used cheap adapters in the past and this a by far a superior quality. All of the knobs and fasteners are large in size which helps when trying to get things fastened nice and tight. I am really pleased with this product. The only negative I can think of is that it did not come with a hotshoe adapter piece.

A swivel umbrella adapter is a fairly simple piece of gear. This one does what it needs to do without any shortcomings. Adding a Smith Victor shoe mount adapter to the top puts a secure flash mount where it needs to go. The adapter comes with heavy duty screw in adapters and adjusts the right ways, with good knobs you can tell apart by feel. It is sturdy enough to trust with your expensive flash head. Not like the model my friend brought which let his flash unit slide out onto the pavement.

I bought this item for use with a small light for iphone photos. I hoped it would also allow me to adjust an umbrella in a different angle, but it didn't have that capability. All said, though, I like this brand and am rarely disappointed with the quality. This bracket worked as advertised with no problems.
