Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does anyone know if the horizontal clamp will swivel 90 degrees so that you could mount a pole vertically?

A: The clamp can be taken apart at the junction to realign he clamps so that they are oriented such that both clamps are in the same direction. I actually purchased the clamp with the same intention. Hope this helps.

Q: 2. Is this the same model with (Manfrotto 035 Super Clamp without Stud) but it include stud ?

A: Yes the stud comes with it. Great item.

Q: 3. is it possible to connect the super clamp to a pro microphone with flexible stand to put it on a speaker ?

A: If this clamp would fit for your application depends on whether the stand is within the jaw size of the clamp and whether the speaker has the proper attachments to the clamp.

Q: 4. Is this will work with the DJI RSC 2?

A: Yes, this should work well with the DJI Ronin RSC2.

Q: 5. Is this steel or aluminum?

A: The Kupo 5/8'' Receiver to 5/8'' Baby Stud Adapter is manufactured from aluminum.

Q: 6. What is the advantage of this in compaison with a real monopod?

A: Depends on how you want to use it. A monopod is designed for being upright and on firm ground. if that is how you plan to use it then the Monopod has a very clear advantage (some of them have feet which make them even more stable) If you plan to use it for booming like demonstrated in the photos then Monopods have a couple of disadvantages. 1. They are not designed for being operated like a boom. Normally when you are using a monopod your hand is near the top of the monopod right underneath the bulk of the weight. this reduces the leverage of the payload you are putting on top of the monopod. If you hold the monopod from the far end and raise it in the air (like you would often do with this GimBoom) it may not support the full weight of the set up resulting in bending or even breaking the monopod. 2. Monopods contain unnecessary components. Depending on the monopod you are referring to it may have extra parts that work well for monopods but are detrimental for boom poles. For example its common for monopods to have 3 or 4 sections so that you can compress the tripod down in size more however this is bad for a boom pole. that design reduces the integrity of the boom pole when held from the other end (resulting in bending or breaking). 3. The GimBoom has some features that make it more comfortable to operate such as 2 padded handgrips. Because it is designed to be used as a boom its also reinforced so that you do not have to worry about bending or breaking as much as you would on a monopod. The GimBoom is much closer to a Boom Pole like those used by audio professionals more than Monopods used for video. Its a simple lightweight, sturdy, extendable pole that allows you to get dramatic camera movement using your camera and a gimbal. Monopods technically can work but The GimBoom is designed to be more comfortable to operate, easier to use, and reinforced to ensure that it lasts longer.

Q: 7. are these 1/4-20

A: Yes, the Rotolight Male 1/4 to 1/4 Adapter stud are 1/4 .

Q: 8. Can I use this with a Matthews turtle base?

A: Yes, the Matthews Turtle Base can accept this Kupo Junior Stand Adapter.

Q: 9. What is the maximum weight that the stud can support? i.e. The super clamps say 33 lbs, and the tripod head say 6.6 lbs, but does that mean the stud can support a maximum of 7.6 lbs: 1lb (Weight of 056 3D Junior Pan/Tilt Head) + 6.6lbs (Load capacity of the 056 3D Junior Pan/Tilt Head) = 7.6lbs? I cant seem to find this information anywhere. Thanks!

A: I don't have a specific weight for you, but I regularly use an 8 lb camera setup on the stud at a pretty sharp angle and I have not had any problems. Be careful to not over tighten as the soft brass metal will twist off fairly easily.

Q: 10. I am looking for something to be able to attach miscellaneous items to a light stand, such as a stuffed animal, floral bouquet or whatever for modeling purposes. I have a Manfrotto Nano Light Stand and Swivel Tite Umbrella Adaptor. What is a person to do? Just use velcro, string or whatever to hang items from the light stand? Thanks.

A: Search for, Clamp-on tripod with flexible neck.

I use these stud adapters to rest my backdrop rods on my light stands and they fit perfectly! To be completely honest, I don't even know if this is the correct usage for these adapters but they sure worked for this! I'm so glad that B&H has these because I could not find them anywhere else, but no surprise here, it is B&H afterall, they have pretty much everything including legendary customer service, and I received my order promptly with no issues. Thanks B&H!

I needed something that would let me attach 2 things to a single light stand that came with a 1/4 top. These are typical Manfrotto quality (great), reasonably priced, and small/light enough to throw a couple of extras in the bag.

It took awhile to find this stud adapter. There are many makes & sizes, and most are way overpriced. This one was reasonable.

Nicely made, this fits on a standard tripod 1/4-20 thread. I used it to modify mic stands to use with my Novatron flash heads. Someone else complained that this stud is too short, but it actually fits perfectly with my Novatron heads.

Note if you want to use this with a mic stand, you will also need a thread adapter (either 3/8-16 or 5/8-27 depending on your mic stand. See the OnStage MA-125 and WindTech M-8 thread adapters for ones that are reasonably priced.)

These are great to use when you have a variety of different types of stands and need to adapt some. It has saved me money instead of having to buy a whole separate stand. Just remember where you keep them because they are can be hard to keep track off.
