Designed with professional landscape photographers in mind, this 75 x 100mm Master Series Hard Edge Graduated ND Filter from Benro has an 8x filter factor that provides a 3-stop exposure reduction in selected areas. This specific model features a hard edge in its center that starkly divides the clear section and the darkened section, making it ideal for photos with a sharp horizon such as seascapes and elevated urban landscapes.

The Master Series filters are made with Schott B270 glass and finished with several different layers of coating. These layers increase the resistance of the glass to avoid scratches and help keep the surface waterproof, making it easier to clean when shooting in inclement weather. Additionally, the filter is designed for a neutral performance that avoids affecting color rendition and curtails the unnatural colors found in some pictures with high contrast.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the filter holder in this kit support filter protection frames?

A: This supports filters up to 2mm thick. As long as the filter or the frame is 2mm or less, it will fit.

Q: 2. Can I use a 95-77mm step ring from another manufacturer with this holder? Will other manufacturers step rings be compatible?

A: One can use standard step-up rings to 95mm for the Benro Master Series 100mm Filter Holder with 95mm Mounting Ring. This will mount to anything with a standard 95mm front filter threading.

Q: 3. holder 82mm?with slim CPL?with ND?

A: The holder is for 72mm lenses. Use step down rings for smaller lenses. The Polarizer is a slim design. This kit comes with 2 ND filters: a GND8 (0.9) (three-stop) 4 100x150mm Soft-Edged Grad and ND16 (1.2) (four-stop) 4 100x100mm ND.

Q: 4. Will this work with a 15 mm Irix f2.4 Blackstone lens and Lee 100 mm filters, including polarizer and 100X150 mm grads?

A: Yes.

Q: 5. I have Venus 15mm F/2 72mm filter size. If I use step-down/up rings to fit Benro 95mm filter holder on Venus lens will it work.

A: To use the Benro Master Series 100mm Filter Holder with 95mm Mounting Ring on the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D Lens, you will need the Sensei 72-95mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3KJHfNN.

This is a very well made piece of hardware, but like all things camera related, you can't expect to go slamming it around like a gorilla
hopped up on a dozen cup of espresso, either. The installation to your 77mm, 82mm, or 95mm lens filter threads is simple since a 77-95mm & 82-95mm adapter ring for the master FH100M2B body itself are included. However, if you wish to connect the holder to a 95mm lens you will need to purchase the FH100LR95 95mm Master Lens Mounting Ring. Rotation of the unit around the axis of your lenses is smooth once you turn the knob to release tension on the
mounting ring; then simply turn clockwise to lock it down when you've found the correct adjustment, if needed. There are also two areas that are knurled across from one another that allow you to rotate an optional proprietary 95mm Benro polarizer. The gear knob on the holder that operates the vertical raising & lowering of the filter frames is solid, true, and operates smoothly. Because of
its spring-loaded lock (which needs to be manually pressed in about ½” to release the gear to move the gear to another frame) it doesn’t have the ability for the “gear popping in and out of engagement without provocation.” If the other reviewer was speaking about gear SLIPPAGE, that may be due to a frame being out of 90° corners since the actual filter wasn’t either cut squarely, or the teeth in the gear or the frame aren’t engaged properly very deeply. Now, as far as the ‘one small exception’… I would like to have seen this unit incorporate three slots for filter frames, as did the FH100M2, instead of only two. Under this type of design, the end user would have been able to select how wide a lens they could use before vignetting occurred using a third filter frame. But, all thing considered, the FH100M2B is STILL a remarkable piece of additional camera hardware.
