A perfect intro to Speedotron reliability--the 1005CC Deluxe Location Kit (120VAC), featuring the 1005 power pack, 2 compact 202VF flash heads, 2 7.5' light stands, 2 umbrellas for softening light, and a padded travel case to protect your investment.

The rugged 1000 w/s power pack is sealed in a dust-proof housing and can be dialed down from 1000 w/s to 44 w/s (22 w/s using two heads). You can make subtle lighting changes fast, with light variability in 1/4 f-stop stages. Two flash heads operate symmetrically or asymmetrically, giving you plenty of choices on location or in the studio, with a recycling time of 1.75 seconds at full power.

The flashtubes are color corrected for a slightly warmer hue. The modeling lights can be set to reflect the lighting ratio of the lamphead or set to full output for critical focusing.

The Speedotron 1005CC Deluxe Location Kit can be used with all Speedotron Black Line reflectors and other light-shaping tools.  This kit is supplied for use with 120VAC.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What would be the best case for this kit?

A: A suitable case would be the Tenba Transport: 4 Light Head Extra Deep Air Case Topload, B&H # TEAT4LX. https://bhpho.to/2JPgbNU

Q: 2. How well does the Rode NTG3 pair with the Tascam Dr-701D or Dr-70D? Is the quality of the results great to justify buying it or would I be better off getting an Audio Technica mic?

A: The NTG3 will pair well with either recorder. It is more a question of whether your project, style, or budget is suited/comfortable with this microphone. That said, Audio-Technica offers comparable microphones at a similar price point.

Q: 3. What flash trigger should I use with this lighting kit? I use Fujifilm cameras like the XT4 and XS10. Thank you!

A: The pocketwizard plusx 2 pack is a great way to work.

Q: 4. How many amps does the circuit need to be to use this (15, 20, 30 amps, etc)?

A: You can use it on a 15 amp breaker.

Q: 5. HI. I want to 202vf head for 220vac. Where can I found it?

A: The operating voltage would be dependent on the power pack which the head is plugged into. The following link shows the Speedotron power packs which we offer that are 220V compatible and will accept the 202VF flash head. http://bhpho.to/1Ta63j7

Q: 6. When I used it in my room ( it has very low echo ) but after recording I didn't get clear sound , is using the microphone windscreen will make it better ?

A: If your audio has a lot of rumbling and low frequency noise, or a lot of plosive noise coming from the mouth, a windscreen can help. If you are having other problems in the recording, there may be other issues with your setup causing that, and a windscreen will not help. Please contact us at audio@bhphoto.com , call in by phone, or chat with us, so we can help you get the most out of your Rode NTG3 microphone.

Q: 7. Can the ntg3 record at 32bit?

A: The RODE NTG3 is an analog microphone that does not offer on-board recording so the bit depth and sample rate for recording are determined by the device that is doing the actual recording. For example, if you were to use the NTG3 to record with the Zoom H4n Pro Handy Recorder (B&H # ZOH4NPROBLK), you can record 24-bit audio up to 96 kHz in WAV format. If you were to use the Sound Devices MixPre-3 II, you could record 32-bit audio up to 192 kHz in WAV format. The same applies to USB audio interfaces when recording on your computer. The audio quality will be determined by the capabilities of the interface.

Q: 8. Does this mic have stereo recording?

A: No, this is a single mic and only has a monaural pickup pattern. If you want to do stereo recording you will need two of these great mics.

Q: 9. Does the 2403cx act as a battery, or does it have to be plugged in to power the lights?

A: Hi Basil, it has to be plugged in.

Q: 10. De cuanto es el tiempo de vida util del flash y de la luz de modelaje?

A: Para el flash, no lo s. Nunca el dejado de funcionar uno en ocho aos. Sustituido dos luz de modelare. Mi Espaol esta muy mal.

I'm in the process of outfitting our studio affordably with some longevity in mind. You really can't beat this setup from speedotron. With two packs and four heads we have more than enough power to do product shots of anything upwards of 10 feet tall. We can overpower most of the ambient light in the room and with a set of speed rings from B&H we can hook up softboxes and other light modifiers. I hooked up with a basic set of pocket wizards and this seems to really be the ticket in out tiny 20x30ft studio.

This 1005 power supply replaces my 805 Speedotron unit and the improvements are great. The 1005 has a recycle beep tone (which can be switched off) which I always missed on the 805. Fast/Slow recycle rate switching means no more blowing fuses at locations with weak electrical wiring. The 1/4 sync outlet now works flawlessly with my Pocket Wizard Plus III's with no misfires. Unit is compact and weighs less than 8 lbs.
