The Movcam Panasonic GH5 Cage provides form-fitting protection to your camera and supports mounting accessories without stressing your camera's body. Made from magnesium, the cage is both lightweight and rigid and allows full access to your camera's functions, battery, and SD card compartments. The front of the cage features two small raised tabs that secure your camera and prevents it from twisting inside the cage. It ships with a removable Metabones support attached, a support that interfaces neatly with the Arca-Swiss tripod plate.

Built into the cage are 26 separate 1/4"-20 threaded accessory mounting points as well as a cold shoe. This allows you to mount a wide variety of accessories to the cage. The Arca-Swiss tripod plate incorporates two 1/4"-20 threaded mounting holes, enabling you to mount the QR tripod plate of your choice. The design of the cage permits the use of the Panasonic XLR audio adapter.

A: Given the vagaries involved in the world of retail, pricing and contents are often not on a monetary linear scale. In situations such as these, we advise the wisest choice for the consumer is buying the less expensive item.

Q: 2. Did they fix the improperly cut handle rear cold shoe mount? This was the reason I returned it. Id buy again. Please advise

A: We are not aware of any issues with the cold shoe mount on this cage, nor are we are of any updates that have been made to the design.

Q: 3. Is Arca-Swiss plate compatible with Really Right Stuff lever clamps? (Not all Arca plates are compatible.)

A: While we were not able to test the Movcam GH5 cage, we did a test mount of the Movcam Sony a7S cage with a RRS lever clamp ball head successfully. It is our opinion that you should not have any issues with your intended configuration.

Q: 4. Will this cage work with the GH4?

A: The MOVCAM Kit for GH5 is not suitable for the GH4. The height is different. The GH4 can not enter the cage. This cage does not work at all with the GH4.

A: I does not. It is formed to fit just the GH5. It does allow the GH5 hot/cold shoe XLR audio option (on top) to be used.
