This pack of ISO-PUCKs from IsoAcoustics comprises a portable solution for decoupling speakers, amps, and DJ gear from surrounding environments, thus improving clarity and focus of the resulting sound. With a weight capacity of 20 lb, each puck's upper flange features a suction cup design which sticks to the underside of the connecting cabinet, while the lower isolator adheres to whatever stand/surface you're using for support.

Between the upper and lower parts of the puck, all the energy is managed; you'll note more definition to your sound, and if you're using these pucks with a stereo pair of studio monitors, you'll notice an improvement in separation as well. The compact nature of these pucks make them ideal for mounting your studio monitors on meter bridges, desktops, floor-stands, consoles, and more. This compactness also lends to portable usages, making the pucks a suitable addition to any sound-engineer's mobile tool kit.

But studio monitors are not the only use case here: Guitar and bass amplifiers will deliver more punch on stage, at home, and in the studio when paired with the pucks. If you're a DJ you'll see a marked reduction in heat- and vibration-related issues when you mount the ISO-PUCKs under your turntable and mixer.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the Audio Technica 4040 microphone?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 2. Would this be ok for Focal ALPHA 80 EVO?

A: The IsoAcoustics ISO-155 Medium Speaker Monitor Acoustic Isolation Stands measure 6.1 x 7.5" (L x W), so they would be too small for the Focal Alpha 80 EVO, which measures 11.7 x 15.4 x 13".

Q: 3. what Size ?

A: Short Setting - 6.1" W x 7.5" D x 3" H Tall Setting - 6.1" W x 7.5" D x 8.25" H

Q: 4. Will it work with a Blue Bluebird microphone?

A: Yes, the Auray ISO-ARMOR-2 works with microphones that have a diameter of up to 2.3”. The Blue Bluebird has a 1.87" diameter so it will fit inside the isolation chamber.

Q: 5. Hi will these work for the ADAM Audio T5V 5" Powered Studio Monitor or do i need the next ones up the medium ones ?

A: The area covered by the IsoAcoustics ISO-130 Small Speaker Monitor Acoustic Isolation Stands is small compared to the dimensional specification of the Adam Professional Audio T5V T-Series Active Nearfield Monitor (11.7 x 7.0"). The IsoAcoustics ISO-155 Medium Speaker Monitor Acoustic Isolation Stands (BH #ISO155PR) would provide better coverage in this scenario: https://bhpho.to/3GHBv4C

Q: 6. Has anyone tried using this outdoors on a boom pole as an inexpensive and portable sound blimp, even though it obviously wasn't designed for that purpose?

A: I have not heard of anyone using the Auray Iso-Armor 2 as a windscreen for boom poles. Typically a shotgun microphone would take sound from primarily the front of the microphone and the Auray Iso-Armor 2 is made for side address mirophones and blocking out background noise. It is not made to be used as a windscreen like a blimp would.

Q: 7. Will this work with the Apogee Mic+?

A: This shield is not recommended for the Apogee Mic+ due to it's smaller size, as well as potential issues regarding not having access to the gain and headphone controls on the mic if placed inside. A standard reflection would be better suited for this mic, such as B&H # AURFCMSK.

Q: 8. Would this work with a Rode NT-USB Mini? I imagine it would if the bottom hole in the foam was shipped with a circular cutout, which I could leave in.

A: Unfortunately, I think the knobs on the side of the NT-USB will get in the way when mounting this. Using a reflection filter that does not surround the mic fully will probably be a better option for the mic you have.

Q: 9. Can this work with an SM7B? I want to place the front of the mic facing the opening, so it's not going to be standing straight up.

A: The only way the Shure SM7B would fit into this isolation chamber would be standing straight up, so it would not work in the manner that you require.

Q: 10. Would a Blue Yeti fit in this?

A: It would be a very tight fit on the Blue Yeti. I would consider using an Auray PFMU-12 Universal Wire Mesh Pop Filter with 12" Gooseneck (Matte Black), BH #AUPFMU12 with this mic, and an Auray RF-C12 Professional Desktop Isolation Filter (Gray), BH #AURFC12. These would pair well with the Blue Yeti.
