Gyrovu Heavy-duty Articulated Arm With Shoe Mount (7")

$89.85 $119.50

The GyroVu 7" Heavy-Duty Articulated Arm with Shoe Mount allows you to attach a monitor or other accessory directly to your camera's hot shoe or to a camera cage that has a shoe mount. The maximum supported load capacity of 12 lb is best attached to a cage since that's too much weight for your camera's hot shoe, but lighter devices and accessories can safely be mounted on your camera. This arm comes with a shoe mount adapter secured on one end, and this adapter can be removed to provide you with a 1/4"-20 post on each end, allowing for alternate mounting options. Fully extended, the arm measures 7". A wingnut in the center tightens all three points of articulation at the same time.

Q: 1. would this 11" arm be good for mounting a Godox M1 (B&H # GOM1) to something like an oben Table top tripod (BH #OBTT100)? I don't want to use something ridiculously large like a full blown cstand/lightstand/camera tripod to mount a 1/2 lb godox M1 unit, but would like more angle and height versatility, that presumably a 11" arm would give. But not sure if it's a wise way to get there, if the 11" arm would be too top heavy for the oben tabletop tripod/tip over, etc. I would be looking to use it in vehicle interiors and behind subjects of a greenscreen to create separation. I find having the tabletop pod on the floor or on a carseat isnt verstatile enough (light looks too underlit and unnatural) and don't have places to clamp the godox m1 inside a car without damaging cars i don't own, etc. And similarly, the angle of the light for backlighting a subject to create separation w a greenscreen isn't high off the ground enough to get an effective wrap around a seated subject, if am just using the tripod on the floor. Plus it would be great to be able to angle the light to fine tune a greenscreen key, etc.

A: The Manfrotto 209 Tabletop Tripod (BH #MA209), would be more suitable to support the Gyrovu Heavy-Duty Articulated Arm (11-), as it has a much higher load capacity. You may also want to consider a small sandbag for further reaches of the arm with the Godox M1 light. https://bhpho.to/3CWx6en

Q: 2. How much weight can this support at full extension?

A: GyroVu does not publish the payload of the GyroVu Heavy-Duty Articulated Arm with Dual Jaw Clamps (11").

Q: 3. What is the max capacity that this arm can hold? Would a EOS R with a 35 mm Sigma lens be too heavy?

A: A load capacity for this arm is not listed. However it is really designed for accessories only and we do not recommend it with a camera the size of the EOS R. The Impact 3 Section Double Articulated Arm with Camera Bracket, BH #IMBHE119K, and a Impact Clamp would be a much better choice, BH #IMCC106R. https://bhpho.to/3oYTlGM https://bhpho.to/2Y8DWbb

Q: 4. The image of this looks much longer than 11” - is it 11” per segment or actually 11” total length?

A: Dear Adam, its exactly 10.5" tip to tip. Sincerely GyroVu team.

Q: 5. How long is the whole thing? Is there a longer one? It says 'dual' arm, but looks like there are FOUR segments?

A: There are two articulated arms connected together. Overall length of articulated part is 19.5". Overall length with adjustable clamp - 22". Sincerely, GyroVu Team.

Q: 6. Will this arm support a mirrorless camera (i.e. Sony A6500) ?

A: The Magic Arm is rated for 5 lb load. The clamp, depending or the position can handle up to 2-4 points. We we think it will support Sony A6500. Sincerely, GyroVu Team

Q: 7. What is the load capacity of this item?

A: The GyroVu Heavy-Duty Dual 11" Articulated Arms with Adjustable Clamp does not state the load. It is meant for putting light weight devices. We would suggest that 2-3 lbs is the limit.

Q: 8. What is the maximum length of this fully extended and the individual length of each arm?

A: Fully extended it is about a 6 length. The two arms are about 3 .

Q: 9. Will this attach to a tripod leg and other end hold 7 inch field monitor? Also will monitor be adjustable ( tilt up and down)?Thank you

A: Yes, this will attach to most tripod legs. The principle advantage of articulating arms is that they are completely flexible. So yes, you will be able to place the monitor in any position.

Q: 10. How much does this kit weight?

A: The package weighs 0.85 lb. A guesstimate would be approximately 0.70 lb.
