Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it have an off/on or mute button?

A: Yes - There is a "touchpad" switch on the microphone. By default the mic ships in an "always hot" state, and pressing the button momentarily "mutes". As outlined in the user manual, I have switched these to "touch-on" - "touch-off". Simple process in the bottom panel of the mic. I have 12 of these and it's a 2 minute process to convert each one by flipping a DIP switch on the board in the bottom stand.

Q: 2. Hi, is A27M Stereo Microphone Adapter included in this set?

A: Yes It was included in the one that I bought.

Q: 3. Does the MX412 DS have a mute switch and is it easily operable? If not which desktop model has the mute switch?

A: The Shure MX412D/S does have a programmable switch for mute functionality. Factory set to be a momentary switch, can be reprogrammed via dip switches in the unit to toggle on off as well as normally on or normally off. Switch diagram is included with the mic.

Q: 4. Does this mic come with a base? I need to use it in the base that has a push to talk, push again to release setup.

A: It doesn't come with a base. I bought a Whirlwind Micmute PTD Push-to-Talk Switch to use as a base with momentary push to talk.

Q: 5. Does this microphone come with the windscreen?

A: The Shure MX410LPDF/C 10" Cardioid Dualflex Gooseneck Microphone with Bi-Color Status Indicator does not come with a windscreen. BH# SHRK412WS would be recommended.

Q: 6. Is the ON/off indicator a switch or only an indicator?

A: This BOYA Desktop Cardioid Gooseneck Microphone has both an LED indicator and a control button, which is a mute switch (short press) and on/off button (long press).

Q: 7. How heavy is the base? Will it stay in place even if the podium is slightly tilted?

A: Not very heavy at all. The overall weight of the entire microphone is less than 18 ounces. The chances of the microphone moving out of place if the podium is tilted is extremely high, unless the MX412DC is fastened or secured with velcro.

Q: 8. how is it powered?

A: The Shure MX412DS requires phantom power which is generally provide by the source through the XLR connection cable.

Q: 9. This will work with Wirless go system?

A: This microphone is incompatible with the RODE Go

Q: 10. Will this mic preform outside well with a windscreen?

A: Gooseneck mics generally come with foam windscreens, but for outdoor use , you may consider a furry windscreen to cut out wind. There are not furry models made specifically for this mic, but the Saramonic XM1-WS Furry Windscreen, BH #SAXM1WS would work for outdoor use.
