A: For shooting real estate, I would go with the 12-24mm, always better to have the capability of a wider lens when you need it.

A: The Sony versions are approximately 1.5 inches longer than their Canon counterparts. So you are correct in assuming the lens is around 5 inches long

A: Buying a brand-new lens does not necessarily means you will get a good copy. You will need to test the lens out yourself. If you are lucky, then you will have a good copy. If not, you will need to calibrate it with the DSLR you are using to adjust the sharpness.Unfortunately, I did not get a good copy so I am waiting for USB Dock for Canon EF-Mount Lenses to arrive so that I can use it to calibrate my Sigma lens. I believe once it's calibrated correctly for your DSLR, the sharpness should be as good as the Canon 11-24mm.

Q: 10. Does the 24mm in Nikon mount now come with a weather seal?
