Capture HD video and still images at depths as far down as 200' beneath the surface with Ikelite's compact, lightweight Underwater Action Housing for the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Digital Camera. The enclosure is designed primarily for video recording, as there is no strobe connector and the camera's flash is not accessible. However, quality photos are still possible with an optional constant light source at any depth or with available sunlight down to about 60' underwater.

The housing affords access to important camera functions via ergonomic, mechanical controls, including push buttons and a knurled dial with a small lever. Built for durability, the housing is made in the USA from a corrosion-resistant ABS and polycarbonate blend, which is light gray/white on the front, sides, top, and bottom but clear in the back so you can monitor the O-ring seal and rear camera controls.

The housing features a built-in, flat, optical glass lens port with a 3" diameter. Optional, accessory wide-angle and macro conversion lenses as well as color-correction filters can be attached to the front of the port to enhance your images.

  • Features a depth rating of 200'
  • Constructed by hand in USA from corrosion-resistant ABS and polycarbonate blend, which is light gray/off-white on front, sides, top, and bottom, but clear in back to allow you to monitor O-ring seal and rear camera controls
  • Light gray/off-white color reflects sunlight to keep camera cool when shooting at or above water's surface, and offers better contrast for improved viewing of camera, monitor, and O-ring seal
  • Controls made of acetyl plastic
  • Compact, lightweight design is well-suited to action video recording and makes for easy storage and transport

  • Designed primarily for video recording, as there is no strobe connector and the camera's flash is not accessible
  • Quality photos still possible with an optional constant light source at any depth, or with available sunlight down to about 60' underwater
  • Many optional lights designed for video and photo capture can be mounted to optional lighting arms for use with housing
  • At depths greater than about 60', or when diving in dark conditions, an external light source is necessary to provide adequate illumination and restore colors that get absorbed by water
    • Affords access to important camera functions via ergonomic, mechanical controls, including push buttons and a knurled dial with a small lever
    • Shutter button, power on/off, zoom (wide/telephoto) lever, movie recording button, up/down/left/right controls, manual white balance, FUNC/SET button, playback, erase, and menu are all accessible
    • Controls clearly engraved with same symbols that are on camera. Markings will not fade or fall off even after years of use
    • Central, bottom-mounted 1/4"-20 threaded hole provides attachment point for optional tray with handles, which improves balance while offering mounting points for lighting arms
    • Slightly positive buoyancy in fresh water

    • Built-in, flat, optical glass lens port with a scratch-resistant front element, 3" diameter, and 67mm filter thread
    • Provides full use of the camera's zoom range without vignetting
    • Optional, external, 67mm threaded wide-angle and macro accessory lenses from Ikelite, INON, Epoque, and other manufacturers can be attached directly to front of port
    • Wide-angle lenses provide greater angle of coverage to allow you to fit more in frame, while macro lenses magnify your image to enable close-ups with greater clarity and detail
    • Both types of conversion lenses get you closer to subjects, reducing amount of water in between you and therefore minimizing distortion
    • Wide-angle lenses often result in some vignetting, which can be reduced/eliminated by zooming in, using smaller aperture, or cropping in editing/post-production phase
    • Recommended WD-3 Wide-Angle Dome provides mid-range angle of view with no vignetting
    • Optional, external color-correction filters, available for tropical blue and green water, can be attached via press-fit method to front of port to restore hues that get absorbed underwater
    • Since color filters reduce amount of light that enters lens, they are most effective in sunny conditions at depths of about 80' or less
    • Color filters not recommended for use in conjunction with external lighting, as combination can throw off color accuracy in images
    • Most wide-angle lenses require a filter with a 3.6" diameter

As a youtuber (styledby casanova) functionality/clarity/focus means every. This camera's picture/video quality is great. I absolutely love it. I would tell anyone looking for a great camera to purchased this. It's lightweight easy to use and I love it.

I've been testing this camera for the past week and it surprises me how easy it is to handle. The flexibility of controls and image quality is good. Touch screen focusing and control over settings is quick and responsive. Articulated screen gives you flexibility with the shot. I'm not experiencing the clicking during video that the other reviews mention. Focusing does jump around if zoom too quickly in video. My first point and shoot after lifting the full frame 5DMarkII around. AND the extras with this Creator Kit may make it a keeper.

I was using a Sony RX-100 mk iii for a few years. The photos always looked a little unflattering compared to my other Canon cameras. Sony photos and video always look a little washed out to me. Some other things I like better about this Canon is, it just feels better in my hand. It's still small but a little heftier. It has a little rubber grip on the right side that makes it easier to hold with one hand. There is also an exposure dial right on the top for those moments you just want to quickly brighten or darken the image a little due to back lighting. I love that it comes with a wall charger so I can have a battery in the camera, and have another one charging. I also love the touch screen. The Sony didn't have that. It's very convenient to quickly get things like ISO. Silly thing but I like the shutter button more too. And the video button is easier to find.

I am actually enjoying using this much more than my Canon 80D! Picture is awesome, depth of field in video is crazy good and exactly what I was looking for. Focus tracking is quick and relatively quiet. Camera is small and light. Had I bought this first, I doubt I would have sprung for the Canon 80D. Seriously loving this camera.

The quality of the images I have obtained thus far have been excellent. The camera is chock full of features and rivals my wife's high end DSLR despite its small size. Unlike her DSLR, when I shoot video I have the ability perform a smooth motorized zoom. Highly recommend it for its capability and small size.

I'm not a pro and do not get paid for my images. I purchased the G7 X MKII as a pocket camera for ease of carrying around. My other camera is about 10lbs of Canon 5DII with lenses and accy's. After a couple of weeks, a trip to Cabo San Lucas and more than 500 images, the G7 MKII is very impressive considering the product design, my needs and its size. 20.1mp RAW images and the DIGIC 7 processor even with a 1 sensor get the job done very well in a less than 12oz package.

Love this camera. So easy to use. Great night shots. My only complaint is that they removed the Creative Shot setting that the mark I had. Love how compact it is.

This was both an upgrade and 'downgrade' for me. I came from a Canon G9X; their pocket-sized camera. I found myself missing the extra couple stops of lens speed more often than I thought. I also found myself accidentally hitting the soft key for the Quick menu with my thumb by accident; one has to be careful how one is holding that little guy. When the Mk. II version of the G7X came out with a proper way to grip it, I was sold. The downgrade part was that I sold my Nikon D610 system, because it wasn't getting carried. (too bulky and heavy for my style of photos these days) The camera doesn't disappoint. With 20 MP at my disposal and what seems like a bit sharper lens, I'm really happy with the images. Don't be too quick to discount the ART modes; they're a lot of fun, and if they match what you're trying to do, they can save you a lot of post-processing. For example Grainy B&W has three 'levels' of the effect and looks just like old newspaper photos. 'Dramatic Tone' does a great job on beefing up cloudy skies. I put a rubber band around the wrist strap to help keep it cinched up, and I can comfortably carry the camera by its rubber grip pads without much finger tension. The selectable clicky/clickless front control wheel is good; it can be set to zoom or focus or change aspect ratios. The flash is bouncable, but pretty weak. Don't count on it for that. The touch screen is better than you're thinking, and Canon made great use of it. For a quick street snapshot, fold the screen out pointing up, hold the camera at waist level, and touch the screen where you want to focus. Instantly, it focuses there and takes the pic. I'm not much of a selfie shooter, but the fold-up screen makes it a no-guess affair. Use the self timer, and it can even be tasteful, rather than narcissistic. Some reviewers criticize the sharpness but let me assure you, at any reasonable level of enlargement, it is great.
