A: Yes. I use it with Zacuto's Universal Baseplate and it works great. If you're using shorter lenses, such as CP.2s, CN-Es, Xeens or Rokinon Cine DSs, you may need to buy some shorter 3.5 15mm rods so that you can lower the bottom of the matte box below the rods. This allows you to center the matte box on the lens. I use this setup with a URSA Mini 4.6k, but if you are using a taller camera such as a RED, which has a higher lens mount, you may be OK.

Q: 2. I have a canon 2.0 lens with a 95mm thread. I purchased the 95mm flexible adapter ring that fits into this matte box BUT shape doesn't sell a 95mm threaded adapter ring to go on the lens itself. What adapter ring would work so my lens can connect securely into the matte box?

Q: 3. If I buy this along with the Lamparte DSLR Starter Rig B&H # LABSK01, do I need to also buy 2 short rods for the front to mount the matte box?

A: You should be able to get away without it., Unless you are using a really long lens. You will have to adjust the camera to connect to the the matte box. I don't have the extension and it works fine for me with a GH4.

Q: 4. can this matt box fits my sony z5u lens if I use a 72mm ring adapter?

A: I don't know that particular lens, whether it moves in and out much. However, I use the matte box with several prime lenses with 72mm IR filters mounted on the front.

Q: 5. Can we buy extra filter trays for multiple filters?

A: Currently, there are no add-on filter stages available for this matte box. Thus it can only take two 4x4 filters at one time. The trays themselves may be available from the manufacturer though they are not listed.

Q: 6. Will this hold 4mm thick filters?

A: Yes it should. This should hold any 4x4" or 4x5.65" filter.

Q: 7. Is this Matte Box wide enough to cover a FF sensor with a 14mm FF lens? For example a Sony a7S with a Xeen 14mm, will it vignette?

A: Yes, it's wide enough. I use it with an URSA Mini 4.6k and the Xeens, including the 14mm, with no problems. The URSA Mini camera isn't full frame, but I still think you'll be fine. You'll need to make sure you have a baseplate that raises the A7s up quite a bit. The matte box is adjustable vertically, but there is a minimum height that the camera lens needs to be at

A: No, The Chrosziel MB 450W Super Wide Matte Box 15mm rod mount does not offer height adjustment. The Mattebox uses the worldwide industry standard for Rod mounting.

Q: 9. Can additional filter stages/trays be added? what about a 138 retaining ring?

A: No, the Chrosziel MB 450W Super Wide Matte Box can only support two filter trays and it is not compatible with 138 retaining rings.

Q: 10. Is there no way to close all the way? Ie fold in the sides and fold down the eyebrow?

A: When using the LanParte MB-02 matte box you would lower the top flag with the side flags on or remove the side flags. The Side flags fold to allow you to lower the top flag.
