The SF-BNC2 Bidirectional Unbalanced Stereo Audio Network Interface is a bidirectional Dante audio network interface. It features two unbalanced audio inputs (left and right) on RCA or stereo 3.5 mm Mini-jack connectors, as well as two unbalanced audio outputs (left and right) on RCA and stereo 3.5 mm Mini-jack connectors. Special software is not required to configure the SF-BNC2. Each input provides a network digital audio level of -20 dBFS for an unbalanced -10 dBV input. Each output provides -10 dBV unbalanced for a network digital audio level of -20 dBFS. The SF-BNC2 is a professional grade product for studio quality fidelity and low noise performance.

The SF-BNC2 is PoE powered. Valid PoE power and synchronization to the Dante network is indicated by a green LED visible from the front of the unit.

The SF-BNC2 is constructed in a durable, professional all-metal enclosure suitable for free-standing, surface-mounted or rack-mounted operation. This full-featured SYSFLEX® product is engineered and manufactured in the U.S.A for continuous duty in demanding installations. The versatility of SYSFLEX® products adds enormous flexibility in the design and installation of professional A/V systems.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Since this is passive, it's bidirectional, right? So I can take the signal from XLR line level to an 1/8" video capture input.

A: The Sescom AUD-TRS-BAL 3.5mm Stereo Unbalanced Audio to Dual XLR Balanced Converter Cable has male connectors on the XLR ends (which are used for connection to XLR inputs) and converts an unbalanced 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo output signal to a balanced XLR input signal, so it would not work. As an option for connecting dual XLR line output to an 1/8" (3.5mm) line input, you can use a standard Y-cable like the Hosa Technology Stereo Mini Angled Male to Two 3-Pin XLR Female Y-Cable - 1' (B&H # HOYCSMMR2XF1). If the 1/8" (3.5mm) input is a mic-level input, you can use a level-matching cable like the Sescom Attenuating Line to Mic Level Cable - TRS Male to Female XLR, 18" (B&H # SES43DBMZ2XJ), which will convert the line-level signal to mic level.

Q: 2. Can you use an additional inline barrel pad on top of this in case you need to knock a signal down to mic level?

A: The output is already at mic level. The transformer gives you a 20 dB loss from -10 consumer line input to -30dB. If you need more, there is a built in 20 dB pad switch which takes your signal down to -50dB total. There is no reason or need to use an additional pad.

Q: 3. Does it have warranty? If yes, how long?

A: 3 year warranty. You can see it listed in the "In The Box" section on your right-hand side of the Overview Tab.

Q: 4. Can the Dante port be connected directly to the ethernet port of a PC, giving the PC access to the I/O?

A: No. The Dante port would be connected to a network switch that is also connected to the rest of your Dante devices and the USB port of the Shure ANIUSB-MATRIX would be connected to your computer.

Q: 5. Can I use this with to provide phantom power to two sets of Sennheiser MZA 900 P and Sennheiser ME 3 EW from the powered 3.5mm mic port on a Zoom H4n?

A: These cables will not pass phantom power reliably. They are designed for audio signal only.

Q: 6. Will this cable work between a lavalier comes with TA5 connector and 3.5 mm Mic input Transmitter (like G3)? I need to use a lavalier mic on both Lectro Lma and G3 so need kinda cable like this.

A: This cable will not work. Generally, your mics have to be wired appropriately for each wireless manufacturer's system.

Q: 7. do you have to have a mixer to use this?

A: No. I use it to go from stereo 1/8 sources (like laptops and cell phones) to one or two XLR's that I then put into a mixer, personally. But you could plug your XLR's into a combo amp or whatever else you want.

Q: 8. Are the outputs isolated from inputs and are all the outputs isolated from each other?

A: Yes

Q: 9. Does this cable keep the stereo output separated at the 1/8 end or does it sum to mono?

A: The Remote Audio CALEC1/8T5FS's stereo output is summed to mono.

Q: 10. Can I use this device with a Shure MXA910 Ceiling Array Microphone?

A: Yes. According to the following page from Shure; "You can use a web application to control the MXA910 and Dante Controller to route audio. Download the Shure Web Device Discovery application to access your device’s web application." https://pubs.shure.com/guide/MXA910/en-US

Made in America. I bought this for use on my classic car audio system. Being able to switch from an iPod device to my Sirius receiver, without having to fumble with plugging & unplugging cords. The unit comes with 2 strips of 3M dual lock tape for a quick, clean, easy to hide and access, installation. Well worth the price charged.

Needed a simple, well-built switch to switch between headphones and monitor speakers. Could also be used in the future to take two inputs from different sources and play through the same output. Compact and easy to velcro to the side of a desk, out of the way.
