A: I own quite a few umbrellas, most of which are translucent, all of which were included with the lighting system I purchased from B&H photo. Each one is constructed as you have specified as a must to meet your needs. They each have a solid center rod that feels and appears to be made of stainless steel. I cannot comment on the radial rods being fiber or not, since they are all covered by the translucent material/fabric. My best advice here would be to contact B&H Photo and speak to one of their very knowledgeable staff members.
