Q: 1. will this work with a gopro hero4?

A: Yes, the Movo Photo MicRig-W2 Video Grip Handle with 2-Person Wireless Microphone System is compatible for use with the GoPro HERO 4 Camera.

Q: 2. Will this work with a Canon 5D Mark IV?

A: The Movo Photo MicRig-W2 Video Grip Handle with 2-Person Wireless Microphone System is compatible with the Canon 5D Mark IV.

Q: 3. This mic looks like it has to be mounted in a vertical position to get proper L/R sound, correct? i.e., if I was to mount it from a left or right-facing cold shoe mount, I'd be recording an up/down stereo image, correct? Basically, can the mic be rotated in its shock mount, or no?

A: Hello to achieve a proper recording the mic must sit pointing forward and horizontal in the shoe mount. Any other configuration will not be conducive to a natural reproduction of the sound recording. Also it's extremely important to use the windscreen outside and to set proper volume recording levels in the camera. Best,MG

Q: 4. Will this record audio only and does it write to the memory that's in your camera ?

A: This is a microphone. If your recorder has a mic in input then the sound this mic picks up will be recorded to your recorder, camera, or camcorder. I've tried a few and this one is a very capable microphone that will surpass the poor microphones normally found in cameras and camcorders. The unit uses a AA battery to handle the power needed and that is a big plus. It mic can operate as a mono shotgun mic, or a stereo mid-side mic with a built in decoder that makes mid-side work and gives a more spacious (more ambiance) sound than a mono shotgun. I own dozens of microphones and this is a worthy investment for those seeking better audio than the on board camera/camcorder mics can manage. It is well engineered and worth the investment, in my opinion. TM Soundview

Q: 5. I plan to do a wedding and the mics will be close to each other. I wondering can i set it up to seperate the audio tracks?

A: The Movo Photo MicRig-W2 Video Grip Handle with 2-Person Wireless Microphone System will record combined audio from both mics on the left and right channels. There is no option to separate the mics onto different channels.

Q: 6. Can this microphone connect withOUT an adapter to my D610 or my D500?

A: This mic can connect directly to any camera with a 3.5mm external mic input, such as the Nikon D610 or the Nikon D500.

Q: 7. What is the pickup pattern of the mic, omni, cardioid, super-cardioid, shotgun? How well does it eliminate background noise?

A: The built in mic is stereo (pattern) condenser mic. There are no filters on it, so no background noise mitigation.

Q: 8. no Sony a7III? version?

A: We do not yet carry an A7III cage from Sevenoak. However you could look at the ikan STRATUS Complete Cage for Sony a7/a7R III Series Cameras, B&H # IKSTRA7III, instead. https://bhpho.to/2ljAW8e

I use this to record audio of live music concerts, not The Rolling Stones but rather music school (of rock). I use a Canon 5D mark 2 HDSLR camera, and purchased this based on other reviews that commented on it's effectiveness in such settings and it fully lived up to my expectations. It is solidly built with aluminum frame - feels like a pro piece of kit. It is somewhat expensive, however quality of audio picked up by the mic, and construction quality seem to be in line with price. It is not a light weight mic, other mics may be, but this one is 1960s era weight. It feels like something that could take a hit and not be damaged. Overall this mic is of solid construction but more importantly delivers high quality audio recording capability to an HDSLR camera.

This mic produces excellent quality stereo sound. It has a very solid body. The size is a little larger than I expected and a little heavier, but still a great product.

An excellent quality product as expected from Rode. Well balanced and perfect for the use it was designed for. Comes with Dead Kitten wind screen that performs really well.

This VideoMic is a great accessory to my Canon 7D. the quality of sounds is very good. I recommend not turning any of the two sound filters that come with the mic. Build quality is great and it attaches perfectly to the camera without breaking its balance. I use it mainly for office training and testimonial videos.

I use this mic with Canon Rebel t2i (EOS 550d) to record live classic concerts. You can find examples of the live organ concerts recordings (EOS 550d+StereoVideoMic) at http://youtube.com/organmsu. The only problem is the noise, which canon preamp generates. Still, the sound is very deep and rich, so is the sensitivity. For me, the quality is sufficient for youtube, besides that there's little choice - external preamp+MagicLantern is not an option for me, too much bother. Things which are not so great it captures every noise from the sides (as it's not directional), so you have to stand as close as possible.

I use the product with the Canon 5DM2. I have an extension cord for the mic and a boom. The sound is great--far better than the built in camera mic.

I use this with a Canon 5D Mk II. I found the 5DmkII's built-in mic picked up all kinds of noise when handling the camera, including focusing, and the IS motor working away. It is also highly susceptible to wind noise. If that wasn't enough, it's only a mono mic! So I got this SVM, which is my first pro mic, and I love it. It has good stereo separation, a nice cardoid pickup pattern, and eliminates all the handling noises from the camera so you can shoot hand-held video if you want to. It also has a nice coiled cord that when wrapped around the hot shoe mount, never gets in the way of the camera controls. The mic also came with some tips on its use, which helped me get started with it. The mic comes with what Rode calls a Dead Kitten windshield. So far, I have not heard any wind noise with the DK on. I just leave it on all the time. The build quality seems to be very high, and feels lightweight without being flimsy. Minor Con: If you switch back to shooting stills using the 5DmkII's viewfinder, the rear of the mic tends to poke you in the forehead. You can get around this by using Live View. Not sure if it's a pro or con, but the Dead Kitten evokes a *lot* of questions, and even more stares!

Works awesome in my video interviews. The dead kitten should be worn at all times because it cancels out mostly all unwanted noise. I say mostly because if you're on a bus, ummm... you're gonna hear it in the background. I love the mic, its a great upgrade from the VideoMic! I've used it sidestage to record live bands and it gets some clear stuff, just depends on how heavy/hardcore the band is.

This little mic is super easy to use, very light, mounts easily onto your hot shoe and records great stereo sound. I use it for my Canon 5D Mark II, and since built0in mic is horrible, I needed to buy something more powerful. RODE solved all my sound issues and I am very happy with the purchase!
