A: They are very neutral. It does not reduce infrared but that is okay since it is only 3 stops. At higher stops the exposure will be longer and the infrared may cause color shifts, but at 3 stops an ND filter like this is still good since exposures will be shorter.

A: Because the 16-50 would need a 40.5mm filter, to use this filter you would need a step-up ring.

A: I have exactly the same issue, haze inside the filter. I live in Thailand and after contacting Heliopan there seems to be no support whatsoever outside USA. It's a hugely expensive filter that basically for me is unusable. I asked for instructions to open it but they gave me none. Many ppl have the same issue with this vnd but there is no solution anywhere if you live outside US. I saved a long time to get this and am hugely disappointed.

Q: 6. What are the meaning of the numbers from 1 to 12 on the filter? Can I use it to adjust an exact ND stop like ND8 or ND16?

A: The 1-12 scale is a half-stop scale that allows you to more precisely set the filter to 0.3 (1-stop) through 1.8 (6 stop) increments, as well as halfway in between any of those stops. It is not exactly related to ND8 or ND16 stops as those would be 0.9 (3-stops) and 1.2 (4-stops), though you could use this 1-12 scale to set those at numbers 6 and 8.

A: There are many versions of the Leica 50mm f/2 Summicron-R lens. Early versions (1964-1976 black; 1964-1966 chrome) were a Series VI + 14160 (Series VI - E44 filter adapter) and later II models (1976-2009 black) are Internal thread for screw-in type filters E 55 size with a Built-in, telescopic hood.
