Compatible with Aputure LS 120 and 300 series LED lights, or any LED light with a Bowens front accessory mount, the Space Light is commonly hung (often with several space lights) on set or in a studio to fill the space with general soft illumination. The 28.5" long translucent modifier has an 18" diameter and a cylindrical shape with an open bottom to allow some light to reach the floor. The Space Light ships with a side reflector to provide some degree of control and create a ratio of output from one side to the other.

I really like this softbox, but I don't recommend it if you plan to take it with you to multiple locations. This SE version does not have the quick setup and takedown feature like some of Aputure's other softboxes. You will need to manually bend and insert all of the fiberglass (?) rods each time, and they are not strong enough to handle that for very long. The first time I set it up, one of the rods snapped right at the metal endcap. Aputure includes two extra rods in the box, so it wasn't a problem, but I don't think the rest of the rods would last through multiple installation cycles. Set it up once, carefully, and then keep it in your studio. 5

I own two of these modifiers. They work perfectly fine and, although the lack locking rods, they are easy to set up and pack with a smaller footprint than versions with locking rods. 5

It's not as quick to deploy as the Light Dome II but it only takes a couple minutes, so for the price you can't beat it. I have mine ready with the Bowens ring already inside the dome, and the diffusers inside, plus the grid attached, so I just take that out of the tripod bag and it's almost ready to go. 5

First B&H does great business! Items always come in great condition and on time. The SE is fantastic and the only draw back would be the assembly. It's light weight and fits in tight locations. 5
