Q: 3. The overview says the mats are capable of producing flicker-free output from 1 to 100% of its brightness when connected to a Flex Cine Wireless Dimmer (not included). Do I need to buy a wireless dimmer? For film and photo at what point will I need to purchase the additional wireless dimmers?

A: The kit includes all the appropriate dimmers to operate the 1x2 mats from 1 to 100% and remain flicker-free. The description will be corrected.

A: You can use IDX V mount batteries as well as other manufacture V mount batteries.

Q: 5. Can I use this adapter with a 1x2 flex mat

A: Unfortunately, no. The 1x2 has higher power requirements than the 1x1 so this cable will not work. Westcott say they are developing a mobile power solution for the 1x2, but I haven't seen any notice that they've released it. You can call Westcott support to inquire.

A: LEDs are much more efficient than tungsten light sources. The 2 x 2 Mat is an LED mat that provides 7400 Lux at 1 meter over a 2' x 2' surface area. The larger surface area provide a very different light quality than an unmodified tungsten bulb and so a direct equivalency of the 200w driven LED mat to a tungsten bulb source would be difficult.

Q: 8. I have two Flex light Cine Kits... One 1x1 and one 1x2. I have two D-Tap connectors (one for each). NEITHER cable works on either light. There's power to the 1x2 control unit, but will not light the light. There's no power to the 1x1 control unit. Ideas?? Thank you!

A: For color temperature of LEDs you would need the Sekonic C-700R Spectromaster or a spectrometer specifically designed to accurately read LED light. Other versions and older color meters simply are not designed to accurately measure the light output of LEDs. In addition, While the actual readout from a Flex LED may be different than the what your brand and model of camera records as a specific temperature, once set, your Flex will maintain the same color temperature each time you set it with the same readout. Your output range may be related to the D-tap question where you appear to be attempting to use powering options and connectors not specifically designed for use with your Flex.
