A: A 3 foot USB-C to USB-A cable is included.

Q: 2. Can I use this device to connect a tablet with a usb c connection (Huawei Mediapad) to a midi keyboard?

A: I am afraid not. Your tablet uses an Android OS: System Requirements: Class Compliant with macOS (32-/64-Bit) Available USB 3.1 Gen 1 Port or USB 2.0 Port Class Compliant with Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 (32-/64-Bit) Available USB 3.1 Gen 1 Port or USB 2.0 Port

Q: 3. Are there separate buses for the two headphone amps, or do they share buses with the line outs?

A: The Headphone outs on the MOTU M6 USB-C Audio/Midi Interface are mirroring the Line Outs (1/2 and 3/4). You can toggle between monitoring line out 1/2 or 3/4.

Q: 4. So, I could use the two stereo inputs to record 4-channels from an analog source?

A: Yes, the ESI Maya44 eX 4-In/4-Out PCIe Audio Interface can be used to record four channels of audio from an analog source.

Q: 5. Is the line output compatible with the line input on a stereo receiver?

A: Yes. It is.

Q: 6. Can I use this as a triple midi usb to din converter? I mean, using three usb midi controllers at same time sending to different midi din outs

A: Unfortunately not.

Q: 8. Hello ESI folks, Do I correctly understand that I can use this device to take the digital audio output from my synthesizer (a Roland X7) coming out via SPDIF coaxial cable, and send it into my computer (a 2015 iMac, which has no digital audio input) via USB? And that in this case the U24 XL will do no digital/analog conversion, but just change the digital format, so there will be no loss of fidelity? Thanks much, Robert

A: This audio interface would allow you to convert the SPDIF digital from your work station out to USB, and keep the bit rate the same, so quality would not be degraded. .

Q: 9. Can this handle a low gain sensitive mic like EV RE20..without cloud lifter ?

A: While it does have enough gain for a mic of this nature, some users have reported noise when turning up the gain, so you may want to consider a fethead or cloud lifter anyway, for the headroom.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with pro tools software & MAC Catalina?

A: The Motu M2 audio interface is compatible with macOS 10.11 or later, and does not require a driver to be installed to run on an Apple computer. Protools and most other DAW's will recognize and work well with this device.

Just plug and play on my old iMac running 10.15.7. If you need a good midi cable for older gear and don't want mess around with bulk of your MOTU interface - go with this.

Worked to connect a midi-only device to my computer to transfer data.

Works great, just as described from the manufacturer. I got this to simplify my live keyboard rig. I am able to connect two midi keyboards as inputs to my DAW from one cable.
I didn't need midi out as I trigger VST synths from my laptop DAW but it's nice to know I can use either as an in or out and it senses and configures itself auto-magically. I liked it so much I ordered another one.

Initially I got another MIDI cable from Amazon, spent two hours troubleshooting, and could not make it work. When I got this cable, it worked right away.

This might be the perfect USB MIDI cable. Highly recommended and well worth the money. Most of those cheap commodity USB MIDI interface cables you see elsewhere fail to pass large SysEx messages (and, by large, some can't even handle messages more than 100 bytes or so without truncation/corruption, or even failing to send at all). As SysEx was important to me (and not to mention a standard feature of MIDI that any interface should be able to handle) I did some extensive loopback testing with this interface... It passed every single SysEx message without error from 2 bytes up to 20K (and I have no doubt it could handle any size). Other pros for me about this cable include compact, solid construction, no MIDI wart box in the middle, and the clever auto-detect feature where either MIDI port can function a MIDI IN or MIDI OUT depending what you plug it into. Just plug it in and it figures it out, now that's cool! The materials are high quality (fabric covered leads) and this 6 foot length (each MIDI port has its own, full-length lead!) is generous and practical. Highly recommended!

Better than my Mio.
The stock Win10 drivers are only good for like 49 key or something lame. The optional divers from ESI allow the full 88 keys. Just something to be aware of.

The Yamaha USB MIDI driver did not move forward from iMac High Sierra to Mac Studio Ventura without using Rosetta emulator - which so far I have not been inclined to do. I started looking around for USB/MIDI wizardry and found this item. It works perfectly with no Yamaha drivers. Naturally, this cable does not fully expose the MO8 like the driver does. What it exposes is a bunch of routable and assignable MIDI channels. After testing, I was relieved to find out the cable itself is seen as a proper MIDI device, and discovered by Mac OS, and integrated perfectly in both DAWs I tested. (Pro Tools, Logic)

On the keyboard side, the MIDI channels follow the parts in multi-timbral operation which is how I use the MO8. I have lost very little, if anything. So far, no delay compensation has been required.

And the price is great. And its wonderful. And I'm happy.

This little Midi Box is a welcome addition to my Midi Configuration Studio needs. At first I was reluctant to purchase it because I felt it was a bit expensive for a Midi Interface... but it is worth it. Here's why

Pros
Excellent Build Quality, solid top grade materials and it looks good
Works without the need for driver installation, so easy plug and play
8 Standard 5 Pin Midi Ports Plus 3 USB 3.0 Ports and a USB Host Port which gives me lots of options for all of my gear
Automatic signal detection is great. Allows each MIDI port to work as an input or output
LED Indicator Lights let you know what's going on
In Standalone (without a computer) there are 3 modes with a dedicated Mode Selector, 1 Midi In to 7 Outs, MIDI thru and MIDI merge configurations
You can use it as a Stand Alone or USB Host mode
Ships with USB Cable and 5V Power Supply, yes they include a power supply!

Cons
Price but NOT really this is one well built, powerful Midi Interface that is loaded with Connection and Interface Options. I think it is worth the money for what it offers.
