The black Vantec 218A Dual 18" Class-D Powered Subwoofer System from D.A.S Audio is designed to provide extended bass response for the Vantec full-range cabinets.

It is powered by a Class-D amplifier with switch mode power supply and a 4000W (peak) power rating. The system includes two balanced inputs (A-B) with stereo HPF filtered output connections for satellite systems. It has two 18LX long excursion bass loudspeakers with 4" voice coils and massive magnet structures. The variable LPF crossover ranges from 80 to 125 Hz. A gain control and polarity reverse feature increase user control over the system.

The compact Vantec 218A cabinet is manufactured using birch plywood and is finished with a coating of ISO-flex black paint for durability. A: On the HS8 subwoofer, the high cut control sets the highest frequency output from the sub. The Low Cut control will act as the crossover to the monitor speakers and attenuate the low frequencies before outputting to the connected monitors. This can be bypassed or engaged with the on off switch.

A: Your stereo pair will operate independently of the sub and will not be affected by its volume level. The sub may be bypassed completely as well.

A: Unfortunately there are no casters for the JBL VRX918SP. Everything to transport it is sold as one piece. We have it at B&H the part number is B&H # JBVRX918SSTR.

A: The SRX828SP does NOT have flypoints. It is not made or rated for safe suspension. JBL does not recommend that you fly this product.

Q: 10. Can this be used with HS80M monitors? I've noticed that this subwoofer has a very different frequency response curve to the now discontinued HS10W subwoofer that was designed for the HS80M monitors.

A: Contacted Yamaha and they assure me that it can be used with HS80M monitors. Frequency response is different as the HS8S can go as low as 22hz (HS10W was 30hz). You just need to adjust the cross over frequency until it best complements the HS80M monitors.
