Q: 5. Do the carbon fiber legs fall out under their own weight or do you have to pull them out? Also, their only slightly lighter than aluminium, are they stronger? Are there any other advantages of of the CF legs?

A: I havent experienced the legs falling out on their own, but I do imaging they will over time and eleven wear sets in. Right now I unlock the legs by unscrewing counter clockwise and pulling gently on each level of the legs. I specifically bought this for travel, I strap it to my backpack. There is a weight difference between the aluminum but not much. The price difference is pretty big for the amount of weight you save. But for a traveler, every ounce counts. Thats why I purchased the cf model. The cf and aluminum are both strong, carbon fiber is stronger but brittle. Aluminum will bend and not shatter. This is a great trip of for beginners and intermediates.

Q: 6. Is there an L-bracket or something I can use to mount my D500 on this for vertical shooting? Thanks.

A bit expensive because it's a Manproto but it's really good I personally bought it on sale so it was worth it to me

I debated for a month, on a heavy more solid tripod, vs. The Befree live... and yes, obviously I chose the Befree. Thank goodness I got this tripod! I do heavy traveling, and I actually was surprised at how heavy it was! I can't image what it would be like traveling with the heavier version. It's extremely compact and really easy to fit in my camera bag. I have a Gh5 with a rather larger and heavy helios 85, and the fluid head is MUCH more smooth then I ever imaged! I am so so so happy I went with this lighter more compact version. This is an excellent tripod!

I use only Manfrotto tripods because they are consistently of the best quality and functionality. I recently purchased a Befree tripod for those times when I need something small and lightweight - and it works perfectly for my small cameras or for my small lights. Thank you Manfrotto.

This was my first video tripod I purchased and I absolutely love it. Prior to this, I was using an old hand-me-down that weighed a ton and had a worn out head. The stability and portability is unmatched. I use it with a small mirror-less camera and it is butter smooth. Setup time is extremely quick.

It is really very nice and useful tripod. Not for heavy duty work. Everybody who has light (up to 2 kg) camera - must have it.

PS - not good for windy day, too light for outdoor filming when Sandy

Finally, Manfroto has solved all the problems. The carbon version is super light and impressively stiff. Even fully extended at maybe 5.5 feet it is perfectly good, thanks in part to the surprisingly smooth pan and tilt, and the intelligent layout of locking controls and leveling adjustment. Of course it is only good for small cameras, but a Sony a7S3 body with a relatively lightweight 180mm Tamron was well within range for this incredibly small travel tripod. Easily fits in any carry-on. My only suggestion would be to make the pan handle at a bit of an adjustable angle rather than straight up and down, for tight situations. But that is minor.

I bought this to go with my Sony AX-700 video camera as well as our Nikon camera. I bought it to use at my Daughters video games and when I go out in the boonies in Alaska. It is light, easy to use and while others had issues, feels very well made. I have used it over a dozen times without any issues. Folds up to a very small profile for easy Carry not to mention coming with a bag that fits extremely well, not like some bags where once you get it out, you can never get it back in. The tripod is smooth and even when filming and is a great item for anyone on the go who doesn't want to carry the extra weight. You will not go wrong with this tripod.

I don't hike, but I travel around a lot and I needed a tripod that would be stable and flexible. So far I love this. I will be shooting video on it this week, and I am looking forward to the good results.

Great field tripod for photo/video and scope use. Had a larger 055-based video tripod, but needed a lighter and full-featured tripod. This kit has everything I needed and more. You will not regret adding this to your field kit.
