The PX4 4.5" Arca-Type Double Dovetail Plate with SS2 Quick Release Adapter Port from ProMediaGear is a CNC machined T6061 aluminum plate with adjustable safety stops for telephoto lens feet. The stops move according to the length of the foot and prevent the lens foot from twisting upon the plate. The 1/4"-20 mounting screw slides within the slotted channel to allow the balancing of the plate against the lens foot while mounted on a head. Additionally, the adapter port is compatible with SS2 adapters and quick disconnect straps.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How do I set this up using a Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 zoom with a foot plate ? Videos always show me using the plate on a camera not on the lens. I'm trying to go from Manfrotto fluid head to Arca foot on the lens ?

A: You could use the Nikon 200-500 lens and for example this plate on the foot Photo Clam PCN102UP Lens Plate for Nikon AF-S 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR BH #PHPCN102UP • MFR #PCN102UP

Q: 2. Did anyone try this with Manfrotto MV500AH Video head? Will it work?

A: Yes, it does. The PM501L is a little longer than the default 501 plate but it is the same specifications. There is a shorter version available (PM501 without the L) here: https://bhpho.to/3ryJpFM

Q: 3. Does this product fits a Hasselblad H4D-50? I will use it in conjunction with an Arca-Swiss C1 with Flip-lock.

A: Yes, you can use this plate on a H4D-50.

Q: 4. Hello, how much weight can the strap loops hold. I want to attach it to my Nikon 200-500 telephoto lens along with a Nikon D850. The strap I will be using is a Peak Design. Can the strap loops handle the weight ? Thank you

A: Though they have no specs as to what the max weight that the strap loop can support is, because it is made of cast aluminum alloy, you should have no issues hanging that set up from it. However, me mindful to check for dings or dents in the loop which could cause it to fail, and make sure there are no slices or nicks in the peak design and you should be ok.

Q: 5. Will this adapter work to convert a Gitzo G2272M head to Arca Swiss L bracket?

A: No, the gitzo quick release receiver is incompatible with the manfrotto 501 series plates that ProMedia uses on this adapter. You could consider attaching an adapter like Kirk QRC-2.6 Arca-Type Quick Release Clamp to your Gitzo quick release plate by way of the 1/4" thread you would normally attach to your camera. You'll also need a 1/4" to 3/8" Tripod Adapter/Bushing. This is not an ideal solution because you can still get loosening and twist where the Gitzo plate attaches to the Kirk adapter.

Q: 6. Can the rubber pas be removes easily to get a rigid camera to plate connection and avoid resonances?

A: The rubber on the ProMediaGear Universal 3.0" Arca-Type Quick Release Plate (Black) is glued on tight. It will not be easy to remove.

Q: 7. Is 3inch including strap loops? Does it not block battery door of D750?

A: The 3 inch dimension of the PX3 does not include the strap loops. And the current version has fixed strap loops, and not the removable loops as shown in the picture. This prevented me from opening the battery door on my Rebels. I'm not sure about the D750.I ended up getting the DTB-60, which has multiple screw slots that allow much more flexibility with positioning. I used them on 2 Rebels during a trip to Italy, and they worked great. The rubber padding keeps the plate from twisting, and the strap loops allow me to mount a hand strap on the right, and a neck strap on the left. I have since ordered more of these plates for my other cameras. The DTB-60 is also half the price of the PX3.

Q: 8. The description says The plate features removable strap loops that can be relocated to either side if desired. One of the strap loops block my battery door and I tried removing the screws, but the loops aren't coming off. How do I remove the strap loops?

A: I recall that now had a look and same as yours seems to be machined as one piece. Possible early production flaw.nice piece dose the job so a hack saw file and a dab of paint and wallah. Paul B

Q: 9. Will this also accept 3/8" screws?

A: Pro Media Gear does not make a 3/8-16 screw for this plate but you can convert any 1/4-20 screw to 3/8-16 using this Oben bushing: https://bhpho.to/2XhMHiu

Q: 10. Is it compatible with a RRS ball head?

A: Yes, the ProMediaGear Universal 3.0" Arca-Type Quick Release Plate (Black) is compatible with RRS ball heads.

I bought this plate to convert my Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 S lens foot to Arca-Swiss compatibility. It was simple to attach and is very secure. I'm also invested in PMG's SS2 Quick Release Adapter system, so this is adapted to SS2 as well. It also makes for a nice handle to carry.

As expected from PMG, a high quality product and made in the USA.

I'm using their system on my D850. Well made USA product that is less expensive than some of the competitors.

Using on Nikon 180-600 mm. Like that it has ruled markings making putting it back on my gimbal accurately at its center of gravity fast and easy.

Everyone who uses a tripod should be using ARCA compatible plates for quick release attachment to and removal from the tripod. In addition, the ProMediaGear Quick Release system is the best quick release system on the market. You press a button to attach the camera or lens plate to your camera strap, and you press it again to remove it. You can't press the button accidentally, but you do check it every time you attach it. They have QR adapters for other brand straps as well. When I'm shooting in the field with a lens that has a foot and will take a lens plate I prefer to connect the lens plate to the QR strap rather than the L-bracket to avoid stress on the camera lens mount, and because it balances better. The only thing I don't like is that ProMediaGear doesn't treat its QR system as a system and won't make custom fit L-brackets for older cameras that are still in wide use, so with my 5DSR I have to use a PMG generic L bracket and have to remove the vertical section every time I need to change batteries in the grip.

I needed a plate for an older Nikon 300mm f2.8 lens. I like that this is thicker, because it's a double dovetail, it makes a nice handle when I'm carrying the lens/camera without a tripod.
High quality part.
