The Sennheiser MKE 40 is a condenser lavalier microphone compatible with SK 100, SK 300, and SK 500 Evolution Wireless Series bodypack transmitters. Featuring a cardioid polar pattern that helps keep unwanted sound from coming through the mic, and high gain-before-feedback, it is well suited to capture speech on stage, or in any live sound applications.

The MKE 40 delivers a 40 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and handles sound pressure levels up to 118 dB. It can be used for close-miking both voices and instruments to capture a direct sound with accurate bass reproduction.

The microphone ships with two windshields (black & gray), a clip (black), and the MZM 2 / MZM 10 magnetic mount set.

Q: 2. What is the difference between mke2-p-k and mke2-p-c products?

A: MKE2-P-C: Small Size For Concealed Placement , Successor to the Broadway-proven MKE 2 Red Dot: Max SPL: 130dB ------------------------------------------------MKE2-P-K: MAX SPL: 103dB

Q: 3. Will this mic work with Shure x2u xlr to usb adapter ?

A: While I dont own a Shure X2U adapter, Ive read through the manual, and I see no reason that the MKE-2-PC Mic with XLR wouldnt work with the X2U. The adapter will supply phantom power, so the mic should work properly.

Q: 4. If I have a zoom recorder, which can output 24 or 48 phantom power, which is better to choose for this mic or it doesn't matter?

A: The Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with XLR Connector & MZ 2 Accessory Set accepts anywhere between 13 and 48 volts of phantom power. To avoid confusion when using the same input for other microphones, it might be simplest to use 48v.

Q: 5. What type of 3.5mm adapter is recommended to connect this mic to rode wireless go transmitter?

A: The MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Mic is not compatible directly with the Wireless Go II transmitter, and would need a minimum of 12V phantom power via an external source in order to work. While this is possible, It would be much simpler and overall, cheaper, to just opt for a mic that is powered by the 3-5V Plug-in power supplied by the Wireless Go II transmitter.

Q: 6. Is the cable and XLR connector wired as balanced or unbalanced?

A: The manufacturer has not specified whether the output for the Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with XLR Connector (Black) is balanced or unbalanced.

Q: 7. Is compatible with wireless go rode?

A: This mic is not fully compatible, because it is designed specifically for a transmitter with that excepts a locking 3.5mm connector. I would recommend a mic with a standard mini connection, such as the Countryman Isomax 2 All Purpose Microphone, BH #COIM2CW405TO to go with the Rode Wireless go transmitter.

Q: 8. Hello, Can I use this microphone with ew 100 G3 Transmitter? Thanks, Maceo

A: This mic can be used with the ew 100 G3 transmitter.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the XS series of Sennheiser body packs?

Q: 10. What's the most space efficient wired device to get phantom power to the MKE-2 and connect it to a USB-C on a Mac? I'm only recording wired on a Mac desktop with the MKE-2. Thank you so much.
