Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the EKX-18SP come with casters (wheels)?

A: The Electro-Voice EKX-18SP does not come with casters.

Q: 2. Will this work to use a SHURE headset wireless mic in a hardwired situation? I have the wireless headset but don't want to use the wireless rig. I want to plug it directly into my mixer.

A: Per the EV included paperwork - "TXA will not function with other manufacturers TAF4 terminated microphones." I can definitely say that it is not working with my Shure WL185 lavalier mic with or without phantom power, and no amount of gain seems to get anything coming through it. This would have been good to know prior to ordering it.

Q: 3. Does this kit come with 2 brackets?

A: The Electro-Voice MB200W comes with only 1x bracket.

Q: 4. Is this the entire unit? I am looking for just the array and pole. The listing appears to be for that, but the price listed is more in line with the cost of the array and subwoofer.

A: This the complete system with subwoofer. Q: 5. What is the Maxium distance from the unit to the input source in order for bluetooth to work well?

A: Bluetooth works best within 30 feet.

Q: 6. Is the mounting hardware included with these speakers?

A: Yes, these speakers come with 2 x SAM (Strong-Arm-Mount) Mounting Systems.

Q: 7. Can this work on 240V Ac input without changing fuse ?

A: Yes the Electro-Voice ETX-10P Portable Powered Loudspeaker is 100-240V compatible.

Q: 8. I have a Zoom h4n recorder and I accidentally ordered Shure wireless CVL lavs. Is this what I need to convert them to wired? If so, any tips with settings?

A: Yes, the Electro-Voice TXA TA4-Male to XLR-Male Adapter can be used to connect the Shure CVL Lavalier Microphone to the XLR input on the Zoom H4n Pro Portable Handy Recorder. The TXA adapter will convert the mic's TA4-female plug to XLR 3-pin male and will also allow you to use phantom power from the H4n Pro to power the mic. The TXA adapter will convert phantom power to the appropriate amount of plug-in power required for the CVL to function properly.

Q: 9. Hoping to use this with a crown condenser headset mic. Will phantom power (48v) pass through this adapter?

A: Used it for a similar application and had no issues sending phantom power.

Q: 10. Can I use old Marantz receiver:2230 with 30W RMS per channel ?

A: These speakers require much more power than 30 watts. I would recommend the Bose 161 Full-Range Bookshelf Speakers (Black, Pair), BH #BO161B, which can handle 10 to 100 watts.

Lavalier microphones are an excellent choice for interviews, audio or video. In either case you need separation of voices, and for video, something almost invisible. Wireless body packs seem to always need fresh batteries, and finding an open frequency can be difficult in urban situations. The E/V TA4 to SLR adapter lets you use E/V (only) miss in an ordinary XLR input with phantom power. They work in a small interview recorder, like a Zoom H6, which cost less than a single body pack. It is a passive device, which operates at microphone levels. I use mine with E/V ULM21 directional condenser lapel mics.
