Q: 2. Will this work to use a SHURE headset wireless mic in a hardwired situation? I have the wireless headset but don't want to use the wireless rig. I want to plug it directly into my mixer.

A: Per the EV included paperwork - "TXA will not function with other manufacturers TAF4 terminated microphones." I can definitely say that it is not working with my Shure WL185 lavalier mic with or without phantom power, and no amount of gain seems to get anything coming through it. This would have been good to know prior to ordering it.

Q: 3. I have a Zoom h4n recorder and I accidentally ordered Shure wireless CVL lavs. Is this what I need to convert them to wired? If so, any tips with settings?

A: Yes, the Electro-Voice TXA TA4-Male to XLR-Male Adapter can be used to connect the Shure CVL Lavalier Microphone to the XLR input on the Zoom H4n Pro Portable Handy Recorder. The TXA adapter will convert the mic's TA4-female plug to XLR 3-pin male and will also allow you to use phantom power from the H4n Pro to power the mic. The TXA adapter will convert phantom power to the appropriate amount of plug-in power required for the CVL to function properly.

A: Four 1-1/2 self-tapping screws.

A: Not 100% sure. If your speaker has a hole for a screw and then a smaller hole with no threads then I believe so.

A: Electro-Voice has stated that the TXA - TA4-Male to XLR-Male Adapter will not function with other brands of microphones.
