I purchased this bi-color/RGB light to replace my current bi-color only lights to give me added flexibility and ease of use because now I no longer have to gel my lights to get color. The GVM products are well built and a good value for money and this 1000D RGB light is no exception. The light supports and main frame are constructed of aluminum with the only real plastic being on the barn doors and control panel for the light. Using the app on this light is even easier than on previous GVM lights as it uses the GVM II App and you are able to link it in less than 15 seconds.. Just switch the light to APP, then open the app and it will scan for BT items, once found in the list you hit connect. That is it.. No setting up WiFi needed. Plus I don't have to disconnect my phone from my WiFi network to use these lights. Output is good and this light uses the normal dome style LEDs for the bi-color side and the SMD panel mount bulbs for the RGB side and the bi-color bulbs look more densely packed than on previous lights so I feel like this light has a bit more output then some of my other similarly power lights. As for the RGB side the colors are very bright and you can get very deep shades of colors... Much deeper than gels but still keeping the high output. Overall I am very happy with this light and may pick up another one to round out the studio.

There are so many good things I can say about this light, and about my entire adventure into creating a GVM lighting kit.


For the sake of consistency in light output and color temperature, I like to keep my brand of lighting the same in my kit. After some research (probably more than most) I settled on GVM to start building my kit around. They have a decent following, make lights for every budget, and price for performance value is through the roof.


My trial was with a 2-panel LED Bi-Color/RGB kit, and after that, I was sold on choosing them to build my kit around. I have added bowens mount COB lights and LED panels like this one into my video kit and they have been indispensable and perfectly pairable for all kinds of shoots. I have basically matched my flash lighting setup (from a different brand) for photography with the constant light setup for video.


For an 8 light Greenscreen shoot for a client, I ended up using 6 lights to light the full length green screen (the picture was from the setup process, but forgot to take one with all lights going) I have a GVM100W as my main in a 36'' beauty dish borrowed from my photo kit, and the GVM 1000D working as the kick light (you can see it in the upper right corner) it's probably 8-10' from the subject at full power at 55k and it gave a really nice skip light at f4.


The 1000D is a great companion to to the G100W as a main and kick style setup. I also like that it has all the special effects as the 800D LED panels I have. They all play really well together.


I also really appreciate the soft case the light comes with. it helps when pairing down lights from my main kit.


Overall I am extremely happy with this light, and have been with my entire GVM kit thus far.

Loving it! Small piece with great results

I wanted something that is portable and can be carried around in a case, this not only gives the ability for white and warm light but also RGB, which is nice to have for creative content in a music video, specially that you can make scenes and have effects to use and make the job easier.


The build for the light enclosure is of high quality and it feels durable and solid, the plastic shaders do look a little cheap but they do serve their purpose and keep the set a little lighter. The whole setup is a little on the heavy side if you want to take with you 3 lights with the case it comes in.


The controls are very straight forward you can go through many different RGB shades with the control unit on the light or with the phone using bluetooth, I was not able to change all the lights at once with the bluetooth app but you can use one master and the other two slave and control the master to change all the lights to the color you wish.


Overall, This is a great set for the price, gives you premium quality, and easy functionality, and is portable enough for outdoor use.

This is a great LED panel light for the price. Solid build although plastic housing. The effects with the RGBWW are just a great bonus. Comes with the diffuser and egg crate too - perfect!

I have a P60x and got this while it was on sale. Really like this light.Only thing that concerns me is the weight vs bracket screw. I hope it holds up.

Durable, versatile, and super bright (especially for RGB). They emit a soft, beautiful quality of light. Love them and can't wait to use them for our films.

Lights are superb for its price range. Honestly, I did not expect much when I purchased it. However, they work great and the light output is really impressive.

Our team has been using these lights for a few months now. They are super bright, easy to use, and versatile. The batteries last a long time. That last 30 minute shoot, the meter barley moved. We had one of the plastic clamps crack and they were quick to respond and send out a replacement. Very pleased with what we got for the price, and with the customer service.

Let me begin by saying I’m a big fan of GVM products.  I have a few of their light kits and accessories and have been very satisfied.  I appreciate the quality of products they make for an incredible price.  I wanted to add another 3-light RGB kit to my light package, so I grabbed this 3-light 1000d light kit.  Again, I’m happy with the decision.  As with my other GVM light kits, I love that it all comes in an easy to transport case that includes the lights, stands, power supplies, diffusions all in one clean, neat package.  This is so convenient.  Makes packing and unpacking for a shoot a breeze. 
Having worked with other GVM lights I also love the
modifications they made on these 1000d’s. There is a new display panel that looks much cleaner and more professional. It is easy to use and visible enough for a dark studio or out in the bright sun.  This seems great.  *FYI-The picture I uploaded shows the display with the plastic film still on. 
The new app is also improved IMO.  Very intuitive design, and responsive.  It was a breeze to connect.  I love apps like these with lights because it is so convenient when shooting.  Just open the app and adjust the lighting, all while standing next to the monitor. So great.
Build quality of the lights is good.  Metal construction, solid.   They seem like they will last a long time.  Especially with the supplied case, which should keep them all safe when transporting. 
As far as light quality, I like thee saturation of the colors.  You can even adjust this saturation which is helpful.  With the RGB and bi-color functions of these lights, they are very versatile. And a great addition to my light package.  They also have different light effects, lightning, police, candlelight, party etc..  
Overall a great kit especially at this low price point.  Another happy purchase.
