Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What does wired for low impedance mean? Are these wired out of phase? Please explain what wired for low impedance microphone means.

A: The cable in question is a standard mic cable. Low impedance alias lo-Z means it is a balanced load cable. There are 3 wires -- send, return, and ground. The connectors are the XLR type on both ends. All decent audio mics are balanced, lo-Z. Some are dynamic and some are condenser. Both use 3 wire. It is possible to get a cable that has a male TRS phono jack on the amp side, but most have a male XLR, just like the 3 prongs on the butt of your microphone. Balanced loads can travel long distances without losing signal. Unbalanced (2 wire) loads degrade after 10feet or so. Guitar cables are unbalanced in the typical case -- return wire acts as ground shield. Only the cheapest mics are unbalanced anymore. For more info, visit Wikipedia.

Q: 2. Can this cable (Pearstone USB 3.0 Type-A Male to Micro Type-B Male Cable (15') replace the cable for seagate Portable and desktop drives? If not do you have such a cable? thank you, Roy Trenner

A: As long as the plug is the same it should work.

Q: 3. Is this cable too powerful to charge a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone? Didn't want to damage the phone. Thx!

A: This cable is not compatible to charge smartphones. Here is an option of a compatible cable to charge your Samsung Galaxy S5: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/825242-REG/Pearstone_USB_AMIB6_6_USB_2_0_Type.html

Q: 4. Will this power my Átomos Ninja Assassin?

A: It will not. This is an LP-E6 dummy battery. The Atomos Ninja Assassin is powered through Sony L Style batteries. Instead you would need a dummy battery like BH #INPTS74 with a Sony L Dummy Battery. https://bhpho.to/2Etyy8E

Q: 5. Balanced or unbalanced?

A: The Pearstone PM-TRS 1/4" TRS Male to 1/4" TRS Male Interconnect Cable is a balanced cable.

Q: 6. will this work with Hasselblad H6D100? is the 90 degree connector long enough to fit into the recessed USB-C port?

A: ThetherTools only lists the straight plugs as compatible.

Q: 7. I need to connect my Lumix Panasonic G9 to my Apple MacBook Pro. Will this fit?

A: If your Macbook Pro has a USB Type A port, this cable will work. If you have a newer Mac that only has USB type C, you would need a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

Q: 8. If this is DP 1.4, why would it be limited to 4k @ 120 hz when DP 1.4 can support 144 hz @ 4k? Has anyone tried 4k @ 144 hz?

A: The DisplayPort 1.4 protocol supports a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz at 4K resolution, so the Rocstor DisplayPort 1.4 Cable will not be capable of 144 Hz 4K video transmission. 144 Hz 4K with DP 1.4 is only possible using DSC, which is something only certain monitors support and would not be considered the true spec of the protocol.

Q: 9. Is it compatible with Sony a6400 camera ? And how long is it ?

A: The ProAm USA ProCinema Micro-HDMI to HDMI Cable (15') BH #PRHDCBL15D has a Micro HDMI on one side which would be the output on the Sony a6400 Mirrorless Camera. The cable is 15' feet in length.

Q: 10. Does this cable work to connect a Macbook to Canon 5D mk4?

A: if you have USB Type-A on your mac it does. but it's a very short cable and you're better off with one of the orange cables from tethertools
