The Tiffen 72mm 81EF Light Balancing Filter helps to decrease the color temperature by 650K in order to warm the image slightly in order to match the color quality of illumination. When using an 81EF filter, you will be able to attain 3200K balance when the prevailing light source is 3850K. The warming effect of this filter requires a 0.6-stop increase in exposure for normal results.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. s9900w can use?

A: The FinePix S9900W does not list a 58mm filter thread to attach this filter. According to Fujifilm it will not be compatible.

Q: 2. How thick is the filter ring?

A: I don't have the proper tool to measure, but using a ruler the thickness of the outer rim appears to be 1mm. Is that the dimension Steve W. is looking for?I use this filter on a Fuji 27mm lens and another one on a Voigtlander 25mm.

Q: 3. Is this filter compatible with fujifilm x100V lens?

A: Yes, this filter is compatible with the X100V.

Q: 4. Can this filter replace the need for me to use the lens cap? (does it offer similar protection)

A: The FUJIFILM 39mm Protector Filter will offer protection from scratches and dirt on the lens. However, it is always recommended to use the lens cap to avoid damaging the filter or accidentally scratching it.

Q: 5. Can this filter use it both sides? I have to install this filter reverse in order to use a different lens hood. Would there be same result?

A: This filter has front and back threads. And they are in reverse. So the back of the filter screws in to the lens and the front of the filter works with accessories that have a 49mm thread like some lens hoods.

Q: 6. What color does this come in? I have the black FujiFilm X100T and would like this to match. Thanks!

A: Fujifilm filters are finished in black with white lettering. They perfectly match the black finish of Fuji lenses. However a 67mm filter will not fit your camera. The correct filter size is the fujifilm 49mm protector filter.

Q: 7. Is this filter ring in black? (Not silver one). I would like to buy it to match with my X100T Black.

A: The PRF49S listed on B&H's site is silver and matches the silver version of X100T / X100S / X100. Fujifilm did inlude the black version with the special edittion (black) of the X100 but I do not know if it is avaiable separately. Nonetheless, why not use a top notch B&W filter -- in black? The motivation behindf the Fujifilm silver filter is to match the camera. This will not be a problem with the B&W filter and a black X100T.

Q: 8. Any vignetting with the Fuji 10-24mm zoom lens? And does the Fuji lens hood for that lens still mount to this filter? (Hopefully Fuji made the accessories compatible...)

A: No the filter does not vignette, Yes the lens hood still attaches to the lens.

Q: 9. spectrum?

A: This filter is designed to block yellow sodium-vapor light. Unfortunately the manufacturer does not provide spectral curve charts for their filter. We do have some test examples on our site where you can see how this compares to similar filters. Please check the article here to see the tests. https://bhpho.to/3xeHXuA

Q: 10. Will this filter work with my Fuji X-mount Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 lens?

A: yes, works fine and is of high quality
