Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with the Ranger models?

A: Unfortunately, the Teradek RT ACI Module for RED DSMC2 will not fit the RED Ranger cameras.

Q: 2. I see that the module protrude out, wondering if it's compatible with the B1 Tilta cage

A: While you may be able to attach the Teradek RT ACI Module for RED DSMC2 (B&H# TE101322) to the Tilta Camera Cage B1 for RED DSMC2 Camera (V-Mount) (B&H# TIESRT01B1V), some may find doing so non intuitive and indeed the manufacturer has not suggested that it fits. It will not satisfy all camera operators, but it may fit to the satisfaction of some. The main issue is the attachment method, something a reviewer has commented on.

Q: 3. Could this allow operator to have iris control while a CTRL.1 controls focus paired with a Latitude with a breakout cable?

A: Teradek says that this setup will work if you're using it with Canon EF Lenses via RED cameras. The CTRL.1 can be set to control the focus axis while the thumbwheel can be configured to have the Iris axis control.

Q: 4. Will the clamp work on the DJI Grip for Ronin 2 (30 mm)? Same size as Movi Pro ring. Or is there an alternative clamp?

A: Yes, this should clamp to the DJI Grip for the Ronin 2.

Q: 5. Do these work with the mdr.s?

A: As far as we know the Teradek RT Thumbwheel S Standard Wired Controller only works with Latitude or MK3.1 systems.

Q: 6. I wish there were more pictures of this item. Does the rod clamp come off? Is there a rosette underneath?

A: Here is a link with more images of the Teradek RT Thumbwheel S https://bit.ly/3Dvg4Un

Q: 7. Can this be used with this Heden Focus Motor? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1382161-REG/heden_m21_110_m21ve_l_digital_lens_motor.html And if so, what other accessories would I need?

A: We're afraid not. This product is designed to work with the Latitude and MK3.1 systems, we are not aware of its ability to work with Heden products as well.

Q: 8. What is the difference between the Motr.s Max and the Motr.s?

A: As the Teradek RT MOTR.S Max Lens Motor systems are new releases, our data on the products are limited. Teradek has provided details on the Teradek RT MOTR.S Lens Motor, but we are awaiting further details on the Teradek RT MOTR.S Max Lens Motor, which should be forthcoming shortly.

Q: 9. Can this be used with the SmartKnob to control EF lenses on RED?

A: This product, along with the RT Smartknob, are both controllers. You would not connect them to each other, however you should be able to use both within a system with multiple motors. One could be set to control the focus while the other zoom or iris.

Q: 10. Can this initiate a autofocus mode between the Cinetape, MDR.X, and CTRL.3?

A: The Teradek RT Cinetape Interface Cable (2') will not initiate an autofocus mode between the Cinetape, MDR.X, and CTRL.3.

I worried that a lightweight stand would be too unstable. This stand is well built and able to handle on location demands.

I use it with my 50 x50 softbox and I love that it allows the softbox to go all the way to the floor!! Very Sturdy!

These stands are great for my small LED light set-up. Quick set-up, and sure construction...I plan on buying more.

After using the stands for a couple of months, one flaw emerged. The rivet at the bottom of the stand tends to be sheared off with repeated collapsing of the unit. Then, the bottom holder of the legs become detached from the stand. We had to drill out the rivet remains and install a set screw on all our stands. Other than that flaw, I love the stands.

Folding back on itself is brilliant. Easy to carry and pack. Just came back from a shoot on Florida's beaches and with a few sand bags these stands proved to be invaluable.

This might be the best stand that you can buy if you need portability but strong support. Most regular foldable stand are good for photography flashes or smallish lights, but anything else and they wobble like there's no tommorrow. I've used the Matthews with Kino Divas and 1K fresnels and it's very solid with a very wide base. I only own one of these so far, but i'm definetely getting a couple more for small crew jobs and for traveling.

Connections are all nut and bolt and can be easily adjusted with simple tools. Strong and sturdy. Legs are solid and opens to a wide diameter for stability. I use two of these with umbrellas for a compact lighting set up on location. Quick and easy to pack up and set-up. Two of these fit on my carry on - nothing to check in.

I'd had a couple other reverse stands before and found them too flimsy, but this one is awesome! I can easily hold a 1K with chimera or a Diva/Mole Biax on it with no wobble at all. This stand is very flexible, it folds up almost as compact as any other one but still maintains a wide base and support. One other thing that is great is that they are similar to C-stands in that they can be placed very close together (see picture). Couple them with the Matthews mini-grip kit and there's no reason to take C-stands on location if you have limited space.Anytime you can snag a stand made by Matthews, do it...the fact that this one is so flexible, durable, and costs less than $ is terrific!
